If you were to make a reproduction firearm, for example an M16a2, what are the must have, non-negotiable qualities?
-Same caliber, barrel length, action
-Same external apperance, furniture
-Same controls, mag release, safety, etc
-Same internals, trigger, buffer, lugs, barrel twist, etc.
-same internal tooling, all identical cuts on the bolt, every pin, cut, and stamp the same
Looks about right and shoots real bullets.

HMG shill detected.
>2nd time this week I've seen someone repost my AR
neat
>>34046982
what's up with the strap?
>>34046982
it's the 3rd result on google for m16a2 clone. good job on letting your rifle get cucked.
>>34046982
>his AR is the objectively worst non-carbine revision
Sad!
>>34046995
I thought 3pt slings were cool.
Then I used one.
It sucks.
>>34047002
I don't see how that's 'being cucked' but okay
>>34047025
I don't care about practicality, it's a clone build.

>letting your raifu be cucked by the eyes of other men
You need to put a veil on your gun when it's in public.

i dont understand your question, like a clone?
As similar as possible.
I'd accept a caliber change if its an option, and not the only choice.
>>34047584
I'm cool with caliber changes like 7.63 Mauser to 7.62 Tokarev. or 7.92 kurz to 7.62x39. Rounds are basically indistinguishable, I don't care to pay way more for rounds that feel basically the same to shoot. I would never want an AKM in 5.56 unless it's an authentic AK 101 or something.

Is it worth it?
>>34046884
I'm so used to clones with rails all over the barrel that I forgot that's what the a2 looks like.
Holy shit.
>>34048046
>1:9 twist barrel
>incorrect slip ring
no its shit
>>34048046
No, what a country has 16A1 upper kits, not cheap, but they come with correct parts, green mountain barrels makes excellent original spec profile barrels and the lower can be purchased from Nodak Spuds and the other parts you don't have can be bought from numrich.

>>34048276
If I really wanted to, couldn't I buy a barrel that's 1:12 and a correct slip ring?
Not efficient in terms of money, but just wondering.
>>34047179
That's a really nice rifle, anon.
>>34048372
Yes, but at that point you might as well build it yourself because you're gonna need to buy tools to replace the barrel and slip ring.
>>34046884
Everything except the last one. As long as it's identical on the inside and outside. The pins must be the right size and in the right spot but stuff like tooling marks and exact stamps aren't 100% necessary
>>34048326
>only lowers Nodak has are raw, unfinished XM16 lowers
Is there anywhere else that sells lowers?
>>34046884
As long as it looks visually identic to the original; it's all good
My A2 clone is slightly different than the original
1:9 barrel twist vs 1:7
Trigger is polished vs the mill spec 9lb pull.
