Do you think the Desert Tech MDR could be a good service rifle for the/a military?
Solved the right/left shooter problem, good trigger, quick caliber conversion and generally seems to have fixed a lot of flaws bullpups previously had.
Why would or wouldn't it be a good service rifle?
Opinions?
The military needs a weapon that actually exists.
Maybe they could work on actually getting a single unit to retail. That said, superficially it looks like a nice blend of features for a bullpup.
>>34046607
Except it, ya know, doesn't actually exist.
if youre fighting the aliens from Signs itd be great.

Orders should start shipping around now...so, we'll see.
It definitely exists, though.
>>34046665
dude early april they said at the latest first week in May. Here we are last week in may (almost) and not a word.
>>34046607
At this point I'm going to buy something else. Maybe an AUG since I've wanted one since I started buying guns. I'll consider an MDR in two or three years after people have found all sorts of unexpected ways to break them and desert tech has released a few revisions.
>>34046665
>Any day now guys! Totally not a scam!
Uh huh.
>>34046607
if they take this long to bring it to market i don't want to know how long it will take them to iron out all of the quirks/bugs that accumulate over time as ppl use them
>>34046607
What is going to be their excuse for the delay next month? Parts? Testing?
>>34047477
It took so long because gun was perfected it would have zero quirks/bugs.
>>34046607
Is it me or is the DesertTech FB page completely empty?

Nope it's broken for me as well. God, how pissed would the early purchasers be if the company just took the cash and bolted overseas?

According to my order on the desert tech website, date of arrival for mine is the 25th of June
>>34052216
>I'm sure that's a reliable date
Surely they wouldn't say youll get it this time next month if that was not the case.
>>34052253
They usually push it at the 3 month until ship date. I know this because they've done it to me four times.

I don't believe this at all. Mass producing a unit of anything and giving it to others always produces some kind of quirk or issue.
>>34058594
The fact that it's guaranteed to have problems, no matter how small, if it ever enters mass production just makes the MDR's 3D Realms dev cycle even funnier.
>>34056510
I actually saw two of their boltguns in a store last week, in Southern California no less (Gun World in Burbank). I was pretty shocked.
The MDR will be released by Christmas.

Yeah, just don't be wrong-handed and never go around a right-hand corner.
Easy!
Pre-orderd january 17th, 2016 and still looking forward to its release. I have already got everything ready for when it comes out to take it to the range, as well a few types of match ammo to see its accuracy. Though would like for it to come out before October just to take it to nugget fest.

Why would anyone ever pre-order anything? Especially something that can't be fixed over the internet? I'm not an early adopter. I won't even buy a video game in the first month. Pre order people are just suckers.
>>34066672
>would like for it to come out before October
good luck with that
Hey, it's totally going to come out this summer, guys. It will be here this fall. I promise, 2017 will be the year of the MDR!
>>34067440
Looking around some forums, looks like they are actually starting to ship them out. I ordered through CS Tactical so I will probably call them up tomorrow to see if I will get in the first wave.
I cant wait for the bullpup meme to die
>>34066546
The F2000 is full ambi and you can change the ejection on most other bullpups.
Regarding off-hand shooting: simply hold the rifle a bit sideways. Granted, it's better doing this with conventional rifles but it's not a big problem.
