Considering this pack for single overnight camping trips and light bug out?

https://www.amazon.com/Kelty-Redwing-Backpack-Medium-Large/dp/B009R6B2ZA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1495513021&sr=8-1&keywords=kelty%2Bredwing&th=1&psc=1

Or should I save up and buy a fuckhuege bug out pack like this:
http://www.lapolicegear.com/arcteryx-khyber-80-backpack.html

And then use something like this for the single overnights:
http://www.lapolicegear.com/lapg-bg-24h-pack-atlas.html

That LAPG pack is essentially a 52L pack, and only weighs 1.2lbs more than the Kelty dry....

So I tried on a plate carrier for the first time today and kept it on for a few hours while at the range. It got me thinking, how in the FUCK do women wear these with their tits in the way? Plates were solid 8 pounds and pushed against the chest noticeably.

Do women have different kinds of carrier or am I underestimating the breasts ability to smoosh?
>>
>>34041872
They don't, a few companies have plates curved for women but realistically people buying plates are probably like 90% guys.
>>
>>34041872
There's one company off the top of my head that makes a carrier and set of pads for women to be more comfortable.

http://infidelbodyarmor.com/carriers-armor-c-18/chest-pads-for-women-set-p-155

I'm not a woman so I can't testify to their comfort level, but, it's a possible solution if you wanna shell out another $60.

I use a Source Patrol 35 L

I can fit my sleeping equipment, sans sleeping bag, food, 3L of water, a compass and maps, battery's, fire starting equipment, and a rain jacket in.

It's really a 2ish day comfortable pack, but 3 day pack without any extra comforts.

What's a good way to secure a sleeping bag to the bottom of a pack, preferably able to be waterproofed as well.

My go too camp food is usually Nutella, but occasionally I'll throw in a soup can or two to cook over a fire.

But yeah overall the build quality is nice and I have no issues shouldering a rifle from any position with it on.

yup. you might want an airshit handgat though due to the way blank rules work
>>

Did you just use friction with that sack or was it specifically designed for molly?

And yeah after I get plates an MSR stove is my next purchase, looks extremely packable and I still have space for quite a bit of stuff already, just not a sleeping bag inaa pack.

Probably getting a waterproof cover for the whole bag too

>>34045260
Literally just take two loose nylon straps with a ladder/tension lock and tighten it on there. Roll-top drybags are low tech and light weight. It doesn't have to be designed for molle. Just run the straps through the loops and cinch it down.

Waterproof covers are good, but keep in mind, in heavy rain your stuff will probably get wet anyways, because your shoulder straps will soak and the water will run into your pack from your straps and back. A ziplock is seriously your best friend, anything that can't get wet can go into a ziplock bag. But you want to keep your stuff as dry as possible to avoid carrying around water weight.

Get a pocket rocket.

i think it had loops i could put the straps through. never had a problem with it coming off but t b h a 3 day pack is not a great backpacking pack. mostly due to ergonomics not space. i have a snow peak stove, its simple but works, vulnerable to wind but there are ways around that

>>34045353
So you'd recommend an MSR stove over something like a Snow Peak stove?

>>34045310
You don't think I'd have issues with the bag coming loose if it was just synched down?

Yeah DESU the waterproof cover is too keep my Hammoc and sleeping stuff dry, everything in my IFAK is sealed off and a stove/food that I bring wouldn't really get too effected by getting wet.

The hammock portion of my pack is also wrapped in my tarp.

To be honest, I could go completely without a hammock and just sleep with a sleeping bag and a tarp but I like being off the ground a bit

Not at all. If you were really concerned then it would be no problem to find some sort of rubber or nylon spray on shit to spray on your straps to keep the drybag from shifting. Don't overthink it, is my advice. If it fell out you should be able to feel it instantly. And if you're still worried about not noticing then you could run a dummy cord through the roll top and connect it to a molle strap.

All open stoves like the pocket rocket are going to be susceptible to wind, you have to find ways to work around it. You can make or buy a simple wind shield to take with you if you think you can't just rig something up in the field. They also will reflect some of the escaped heat and theoretically get you faster boil times.

Anyone have thoughts on the best way to carry a poleless litter? I was using the issued buttpack attached to my M9 aid bag, but it tended to have a lot of excess movement.

I tried that, but it made rucking that much more miserable. I have also tried a hydration pouch, but that created the same issue with my ruck. I would rather have it as part of my aid bag. This will be used in training environments for the most part, so rucking is a major part of my gear layout.
I currently mount my M9 bag horizontally on top of my issued ruck by threading one shoulder strap through the ruck's shoulder straps at the top and the other through the flap closures.

might be the best plan. i just have a small ifak on my pc and ammo, all the rest of my aid and bladder are in a 3 day pack.

Why sort of litter? I've carried:
https://www.tacmedsolutions.com/product/phantom-litter/

It's relatively a lot more compact and you can easily slip it inside your pack or MOLLE it on with very little sway. Depending on what poleless litter you're using, you might be able to just pick up the pouch and put your existing litter inside.
>>
>>34048373
Perhaps. We do cache the rucks when doing some things, so having my load being modular is a must.

LAPG shorts and propper nylon belt came. Very disappointed. Shorts are fat dad tier, but I guess I should have expected that coming from LAPG. They are tight around the waist but fucking huge around the legs. They look like shit. Useless for wearing in public IMO.

The propper nylon belt is also sized stupid. I am a 34" waist in everything. Bought the corresponding belt. Too small.
LAPG won't take returns on worn and opened clothes either.

In my experience, Comtacs are more comfortable and are less susceptible to EMI than Sordins when going under florescent lighting. Also, Comtacs are much more adaptable right out of the box, since they come standard with a 2 pin jack for plugging in various audio/mic sources into the headset. Sordins do not have an auxiliary input jack.

Gear is starting to come together, I'll order a smaller IFAK Pouch and probably just put an Israeli bandage and Gauze in for myself with a TQ located on the PC as well.
>>
>>34052778
Slip in some occlusive seals on your PC medical pouch. North American Hy-Fins are pretty small. Occlusive seals are less fashionista than TQs, but equally as important. (Assuming you have passable medical skills)

I have long been an advocate of putting the primary personal medical kit on a belt, if you happen to wear a tacticool belt that is unpictured. Of course there is no rule you can't have a pack, belt, and PC medical kit. Of all the tacticool shit in these threads, medical stuff is likely to be used more than any of it.

I'd recommend a hands free light source as well on the PC. Either a dedicated one meant to slip into MOLLE, a repurposed headlamp, or an electric light stick to allow low-light aid.
>>
>>34052816
I have a headlamp innapack with batteries 4days.

pretty much what it sounds like, the singles can be hooked up to one push-to-talk switch which hooks up to one radio. The duals go to 2 PTT switches, each of which goes to a radio. So duals let you talk on 2 sets, which is useful for CCTs or officers.

Two comms downleads, lets you use two radios at the same time so you can be on two channels. Ysually used by RTOs and SLs so that they can be on a squad based channel, and a command channel. Something that the good people of 4chan have much experience with.

You're a massive faggot and you literally work in the medical field.

99% of people don't need to know how to use anything beyond basic medical shit.

Expecting 4chan to know this is top tier delusion, also

>guy makes post about how he aspires to go out and get medical training
>"wow, what a fag, he doesn't have medical training"

You're the worst kind of autist, it's usually a sign of low functioning autists to unreasonably attack people for things they are honest about

Yeah, there we go. I actually laughed a bit. Thanks for that.
I have a couple of unit shirts and a MSM medic hooah shirt, but I seldom wear them. Some of my guys seem to get everything they own from GS, 9 Line, and under armor. I get it with the young ones, but some of them are in their 30s.
Don't even get me started on that Chris Kyle stuff.
>>
>>34055491
I'm glad all my units had a sense of irony about moto stuff. First unit had a rooster as mascot and all the shirts and mugs had "cock" puns on them. Second unit had the motto "Safety Third" with a hand sign missing the ring finger as the stuff on the shirts.

I swear to god, the sign of a problem unit was when they named themselves "Wolfpack". How many fucking edgy wolf themed units can a military have?

It's a MOLLE belt with loadbearing suspenders. You can do the same thing with a Tactical Tailor belt and a set of shoulder straps. Ton of companies out there make belt & suspenders with MOLLE backs. Your selection widens even more if you just want the suspenders and don't care about MOLLE on them.

Back measures between 8" 5/8 and 3/4 by 5" 1/8.

The back fabric is doubled over and the buckle straps are sewn in between that. And of course every individual piece of fabric is hemmed first.

Ps
The Velcro fucks with the contour of the fabric, and I'm using a regular tape measure, so these are not "exact measurements.

Main pocket(the whole piece of fabric) is 10 3/4" wide and 7" tall.

Keep in mind with this that I'm not adding the addition of the hems, so you will have to think about that when you are cutting fabric.

Each pocket(except the backing of the pocket) is one piece of fabric. Here is what they did with the corners(rig is inside out). If I'm saying/showing obvious things, then too bad, your gonna have to put up with it.

I was wrong on the main pocket, it is 11" wide.

The front(secondary) pocket is 11" wide and 5 1/2" tall.

Picture of the outside of the corners.

The back is hook velcro obviously. The main pocket has a 2" strip of hook on the top of the back and two inch strip of loop on the top of the front. The secondary pocket has loop all the way down the front and back. If you need to know anything else, let me know.
