I've got a Model 70 in 458 Win Mag that I want to sight in. Which lead sled should I get?

Two sand bags and a pair of balls.
>>34030135
Ditto on the balls. 3 sand bags
>>34030135
>people getting proper big bore hunting guns that don't know how to sight them in, or handle recoil and want a device to take it for them
God damn it just buy a 3.5" shotgun and a couple hundred shells of 2 1/4 ounce turkey shot. It'll be cheaper than wasting good 458 ammo and it'll teach you how not to be a total bitch.
Two sand bags, some ammo, and a pair of balls, fpbp.

Just boresight the rifle and place the butt directly against your scrotum, it helps soak up the recoil.

fuck off noguns

.458 win mag will hit harder than damn near any shotgun.
>>34030972
Look at the weight of the firearm you mook, a regular 3.5" with a lightweight synthetic stock is 7lbs, much lighter than 10 gauge shotguns.
sauce: me because I fucking own them and a 458
Now shut up and let the thread die because it was ended well before you got here and proved your retardation.
>>34031011
You are nogunz as fuck.
>>34031159

>>34031306
How on earth am I supposed to know that's .458 win mag? You don't even have a bore gauge in there!

Anon, it's past your bed time, put daddy's ammo back in the reloading room
>>34031354
Joke's on you, my dad's dead.
>458 lott owner here
You don't want to use a led sled for it because you're going to split the stock if it's wood and probably fuck up the stock/bedding if it's polymer still
Stand and do a side resting thing against a post or something. Safari guns are supposed to be shot standing; the apparent recoil is much less.
I've got a load for 500gr at 2300ft/s and its a bit of a doozy but definitely manageable.
>>34031359
I'm sorry for your loss, anon.

First reasonable post in the thread.
>>34031372
It was years ago when I was a kid, thanks though.
>>34031364
Pretty much, I can only take fifty or so rounds from the bench but it's much more manageable standing. The wallet tends to cry mercy before the shoulder does.
>>34030729
Correct. I havent. I own a 338 win mag and its not as a scary as people say.
>>34030972
This chart doesn't even have 3.5" 12-gauge on it. Some of those turkey and boar loads approach 70 ft.lbs.
>>34031492
Not to mention weight of the firearm, that makes a big difference.
>>34031492
why does it take such a high power round just to kill a turkey?
>>34030135
caldwell rock br and a set of protektor bags filled with heavy sand
>>34031601
Because fuck those nigger birds.
