I wasn't exactly disappointed I just realized that they were setting up the twist. It's not necessarily a negative aspect of the movie though because the characters were physically identical if there wasn't the setup audiences would be confused at the end.

It made sense from a movie making perspective.

This means without this random galactic event, they would have gone to the original planet.
