Is cerakote retard tier? I want to 2 tone my glock and i'm interested in the external protection.

You can get retarded with it, but aside from the end user being a fuckass and choosing tacky designs, its a good product from what I've heard.
>>34024899
No but I can be if you go overboard.
>>34025221
It*. Sorry phone typing here
>>34024899
It's a solid technological development.
Just don't be a cunt and have dumb aesthetics, and you'll be fine.
>>34024899
>>34025293
9/10 right up until they ruined it with the stippling.
>>34024899
As long as it's done right, you don't pick retarded as fuck colors, you're golden.
>>34025293
I had a Transformer like that as a kid but it wasn't covered in a burnt cheese texture.
I do cerakote for a living.
Assuming you have a glock, pick a color you like that goes well with black, and get the frame done in that color. Leave the slide alone. For added contrast, you can ask them to mask off the textured panels (gen4 go home).
Don't get the whole gun the same color, and don't be gay.

Why not cerakote a slide?
>>34024899
>the external protection
The what?
Your Glock is already practically impervious to external harm.
Cerakote would be purely decorative.
>>34024899
It's a good finish that does wonders to protect your gun from rust.
Don't go full autism with the colours and get it professionally done to avoid retardation.
I think pic related looks good just like that one brand of power tools but everyone is just gonna assume I lick dicks

Makita.

Top kek

The tenifer coating is decent enough, and unlike cerakote, cannot chip.
On glocks it's purely an aesthetic choice.
>>34024899
do the slide in titanium nitride
it's hard, corrosion-resistant, and self-lubricating
>>34029094
Great that's exactly what I want on my slide, lubrication.
Why would you do this, it's worse than nickel boron coated triggers.

On the outside part that you touch, where grip is critical?
>>34024899
Don't put cerakote on your glock it will slamfire when you put a round in the chamber
>>34029389
>he thinks that lubricious coatings like TiN and NP3 will make the slide slip out of his hands like a bar of soap
They aren't THAT slippery; they just allow you to clean the gun easier and go longer between adding lubricant.
>>34029451
Clean and add lubricant to the outside of the slide and trigger? You tacticoolfags really get me sometimes.
>coating a high wear part like a glock barrel
why
>>34025293
2 keys and a stat track Aquamarine Revenge. Final offer.
>>34029560
cosmetic purposes
>>34027481
>slide and frame coated
>still using baisc bitch sights that came with the gun
>>34024899
>is getting a coating to protect something retarded
You're retarded for being so nervous to make your own decisions
>>34025293
Why do smiths always go so overboard with the stippling?
