Once they spotted me they turned towards me and headed straight for me then suddenly stopped, turned around and walked away but then they stopped again and turned towards me and came at me again only to stop a second time and turn away. They were hesitant I guess but I kept my eyes on them the whole time.

Lets say you watch them, you are aware of your surroundings but they still come straight for you what would you do? In the situation I described I would've picked up my dog and walked away and if they gave chase I would've started running too. When would you have pulled your firearm? after they catch you and stomp you into the ground? Before they even reach you? Do you report any incident even just involving drawing your gun to the police?
