Utter bullshit - most of those 5.56 weapons have been donations and their only use has been on parades - the special forces still use the short AK in 7,62 from which the Draco has been derived for the civilian market.
The heavy machine guns came with the bought or donated material - mostly HMMMV - but they have been quickly replaced with the PKM when they run out of ammo and parts for them. In fact the M2 have never even been mounted on them apart that first time when they have been paraded, they went straight to the depot and have most likely been sold long ago if they haven't been cut out.
As for sniper rifles they use german custom ones in .308 officially, but practically still most use the old PSL simply because it's far cheaper to train with them. The AR-10 have been donations that got discarded almost immediately for being overall inferior to the PSL . Those B&T were supposed to replace the PSL in the early 2000 but the deal never materialized - i don't think they bought more than those 4 for testing.

Funny thing here, they have kept the scopes because they were clearly superior to what they had before - old 80's products.
BTW, conscripts, really? And in case you don't know we do produce the ammo for it, but it costs a lot more for match ammo than our regular specialized ammo for the PSL and again it's simply not worth it - the war is not a shooting match.

They have no reason to, primarily it's used in beltfed GPMGs, and there the big rim isn't a hindrance, it's arguably an advantage for extraction.

So it's mostly GPMG food, their GPMGs are doing fine, the ammo is performing fine, they have a lot of industry and logistics built up around the 7.62x54mmR cartridge, so it's cheap enough for them.

Russia doesn't have a lot of money, so why replace something there's nothing wrong with?

My friend, '54r has been used in loads of box magazines.
They are, without fail, clunky and a pain in the ass and 100% of the time prone to rim lock if not loaded properly.
