Can confirm, I used to rso for a range in Iowa and all trap shooters were NRA tier fudds. They all hated the pistol and rifle range because they were "dangerous" and "a threat" to the club.

I shoot clays all the time for a long time in all parts of the US and in Europe and nobody gives a shit what gun you use or what kind of shirt you are wearing. Literally zero. I know there are the chrome-plated over-under crowd that have multiple guns and ride a golf cart, they've never sais anything to me

People chimp out when I shoot with my Benelli Supernova because it's the only suitable shotgun I have. They chimp out if I don't dress like they do, etc.

The community for trap shooting where I am is extremely autistic and almost introverted. Anything different from the norm should be shunned, new people should be shunned, etc.

This. I used to shoot trap as a teenager in ratty street clothes, an 870 I bought from walmart, and just the bottom half of a hope depot apron to hold my shells. I got a lot of dirty looks from old men in loafers

I get yelled at by fudds for using a 14 inch pump action, even though I don't perform noticeably worst than anyone else.

I also get yelled at by low drag high speed oper8ers because I chicken wing, and shoot handguns better one handed. Even though my groups are pretty good.

Also lever actions with old style levers and stuff > rack and pinion.

Oh and bench shooting for anything other than zeroing is a useless activity, unless you're comparing firearms or ammo types.

Clay shooting is best done in the wilderness with boxes of wal-mart clays thrown with a wal-mart clay chucker with a blaster pack of wal-mart 250rd target shotshell for 37$
