1911s are always getting cheaper and more plentiful; Toks are surplus and will without fail get more expensive.

I purchased a Tok as my first handgun so I may be a little bit biased. IMO shooting a Tok is a lot more fun than shooting a 1911.
Ammo is cheaper to reload if you cast. If you don't reload, buy PRVI ammo in the states and sell your brass online (people will pay 15-20 cents a piece for it).

Figure this might be a good place to ask. I have a Romanian 7.62 tokarev and a pawn shop near me is selling a chink tokarev in 9mm. Are the 9mm ones any good or should I pass?

Are Toks safe to carry with one in the chamber? AFAIK the added safety levers are only trigger blocks and do not block the firing pin.
