Is there anything the C-130 can't do?
And what will it eventually be replaced by?
It's fat and big
>And what will it eventually be replaced by?
Your mom, since she's fatter and bigger

Stay airborne in modern war.
Needs a boat plane variant, a firefighter variant, and a civilian market variant.

You just wait until the CWS package comes out.

pfft, wait till you get BTFO by F-130 6th gen fighter, poops ballistic air to air missiles from the ramp going mach 5

So all the hospital destruction it's done these past few years isn't modern war?

>And what will it eventually be replaced by?
The C-131, a C-130 variant
Incremental changes will replace it. There isn't anything in the foreseeable future that will make it obsolete, at least in its original tactical airlift role. You could argue that the C-130J was a major enough change to not really consider it the same as the original.

>Is there anything the C-130 can't do?
Love you back.
I don't think it will be replaced anytime soon.
1. It's STILL being manufactured. Old worn-out air frames are being replaced with fresh ones off the line with new avionics and modern/upgraded engines.
2. The US DoD loves to keep upgrading old tech where ever they can get away with it. How long had the Army kept the M2 .50 cal? How long did they keep the M1911? If it ain't broke, they don't fix it. Hell, if it IS broke, they try to fix it and roll with it.
3. It's a flexible airlifter that can do things that C-5s and C-17s can't do. Until something something better comes along, there's no reason to replace it yet. Even if you have a newer, better aircraft, the tooling and factories for an old platform like the Hercules have got to be bought and paid for by now. To produce a C-130, you're only paying for material and labor a this point.
4. It's a cargo plane. It's not like an air superiority fighter that needs to be stat-of-the-art and better than the opponent. It just has to reliably move an acceptable volume of cargo in relation to cost of operation.

>in relation to cost of operation.
and this is one of the key reasons that it is still around
Something better is going to have a hard time proving itself to be cheaper to operate than a 130 that has a 60 year record.
why not make a coin bomb/missile truck variant?
cheap to operate compared to strategic bombers.
good payload and flight time.
lots of familiarity in the air force.

I mean dropping guided shit out the back seems to be working pretty well (MOAB). No need to modify one into a dedicated bomber and make it unusable for transport role.
I'm not sure a prop driven transport plane is the best platform for launching missile though, not much roof for them on the wings unless strapping them to the far ends would work. Again, dropping them out the back with a parachute and delayed start would probably work.
