47 or 74 anons?
I want a 74, some arsenal in 5.45 but I feel like a 47 is the easy way out
Both
Next AK I need is an SGL 21-94 and a shitton of Zenit
>>33992831
Go with a M
>>33992831
47's are a good bit easier to come by yeah but a 74 has the austism factor
5.45 ammo is dirt cheap op
>>33993280
It's not 2010 anymore anon. 5.45 is more expensive than 7.62 now
>>33992831
That picture... that's from an ffl in Iowa that specializes in building AK's, and they had this one for sale.
Nice thread, Iowa bro.
>>33992831
47 for me because I love the cartridge. I still really want a 74 for shits and giggles, but I have a few other guns I want first.
>>33992831
This, both is the obly true answer
>>33994193
your car is pissing everywhere, anon
sell the gun and fix your shit you poor fucker
>>33994207
Fuck you, she runs great. It's probably from a previous oil change. I do my own maintenance like a real man.
>>33992831
If you have an AR or plan to buy an AR, get 7.62. Part of the fun of having more than one gun is the novelty factor, and there's greater novelty between an AR and a -47 than there is between an AR and a -74.
>>33993343
Commercial steel case ammo for .223, 5.45, and 7.62x39 is essentially the same price. Sometimes there's a couple dollar per case price difference, but it's never more than a penny per round.
.30 Carbine is nearly as cheap as well.
>>33993630
It wasn't for sale. It was display only, iirc
I am asking myself the same question. Eurofag here, and I'm only allowed to won 5 weapons. I want atleast one kalashnikov, but I have trouble deciding between the 47 and the 74 variants. What's an all-round better choice when SHTF with our lovely "refugees"?
>>33996271
Personally I think 7.62 is the Moreno practical caliber given ammo selection and regulations.
>hits hard
>.30 hollow points
>beyond 300 meter engagement unlikely
Both are fun to shoot in their own way
>>33996335
Thanks for the advice. Anyone else like to give their two cents?
>>33992831
Get a wz.88 tantal if you want a 5.45 it is a some what special snowflake
This is mine
>>33993343
Wrong.
>>33992831
I would go for a 47 because 7.62x39 is easier to find in the US (you can get it at Wallmart) and I feel like the caliber suits the system better.
Personally since I already own a milled AK47, I really want a 74 in .223/5.56 but want to get some other shit before ponying up for an Arsenal.
>>33994467
Oh, I see. Nonetheless, still sounds like a cool place.
>>33992831
I think the 74 is more pleasing to the eye and more pleasant to shoot, and easier to keep on target.
But 762 is more fun, and golden tiger yaws practically like 545 anyway and will have a wider surface area while it's yawing like crazy.
All in all, I'm more of a 762 fan, but I prefer it through an sks or especially a vz58.
>>33992831
Well, the 74 actually exists so.
>want an AK with nice wood furniture and none of that stupid folding stock shit
>only ones within my price range are fucking Century Arms
>am stuck chasing an ugly polymer AK from Arsenal because reliability matters more than aesthetics
>>33997547
>buy triangle folder
>put wood handguards on
wow
>>33997568
But that would require effort and would prevent me from shitposting. Shitposting is more important.
>>33997547
the arsenal ak's arent more reliable. the recievers both fail at 100k rounds on average
>>33997547
>want an AK with nice wood furniture and none of that stupid folding stock shit
>live in commiefornia
Life is hell
>>33997547
Leave polymer alone
>>33997601
i meant to say the arsenal wasnt more reliable than the wasr anyway. the one century ak with a milled receiver lasts forever but the barrel shoots out at like 60k rounds if i remember right whereas the arsenal and wasr barrels never get shot out before the stamped recievers fail
>>33997601
Their rifles are apparently reliable enough to not end up costing them a multi-million dollar lawsuit unlike Shitury Arms.
>implying anybody will even put 100k rounds through a single gun unless they're too poor to afford multiple guns
>>33997657
read it for urself its p interesting. that guy also made threads on handguns and shotguns and m4s and stuff. he said the mossberg 500s and remington 870s only last around 2 weeks on average at his range

>>33996271
The 74 is overall more "practical" in some aspects
>>33997732
How so?
>buying bad-guy guns
>>33996271
get the 47 so when u shoot the refugees u can pick up their ammo and use it
>>33997837
>not loving the commie guns
>>33992831
I would personally say 47, but I'm biased due to the ammo sold in my area. I can get 7.62x39 Wolf and Golden Tiger for 21 cents and 24 cents respectively. At least where I am, I'd have to order online to get 5.45. HOWEVER, 5.45 is the exact same price as 7.62 and 223 (~20 cents) if you order online, so it's really up to personal preference and what you intend to do with the rifle.
>>33997837
Aks have probably killed more commies than any other semi auto gun in the world.
>>33998069
guns dont kill people people kill people
I absolutely ADORE my '74, but i admit all that easy 7.62 is very very nice.
I can only imagine that it depends if you're the sort of guy who makes bulk internet ammo purchases, or just like a box of 30rds from the store every so often.
>>33997837
>>buying bad-guy guns
more 74s are killing ISIS than M16s

You need to go back.
Just get an AR bruh.
>>33999237
dont listen to this guy it's an unreliable trash gun
>>33999420
>unreliable
