>>
>>33969254
they changed how they make them if you can find an old one for like $150 then they are pretty dope.
>>
>>33969271
To be fair that ukie helmet was most probably made in china and just relabeled. Doubt they can even make shit like that themselves.
>>
>>33969221
Pros:
-protects you from grenade fragments
-gives you level 3 coverage for your skull, anecdotal evidence suggests it can resist glancing blows from intermediate rounds
-saves you from banging your head on shit
-the most comfortable way to wear night vision

Cons:
-heavier and hotter than no helmet
-extra expense
-makes you look like a fag

Like another poster said if you can find an older one sure but for best budget I would say gove AWS Inc a look. They make good stuff and have a 6094 style carrier.

If you have the cash right now I would say look into this

http://m.ebay.com/itm/USED-MULTICAM-MSA-PARACLETE-SOHPC-SPECIAL-OPERATIONS-PLATE-CARRIER-SIZE-LARGE-/132181034618?hash=item1ec69a867a%3Ag%3AvI4AAOSwrhBZC2xP&_trkparms=pageci%253Ae0d53e20-398e-11e7-a1b9-74dbd180b59b%257Cparentrq%253A0d067c0f15c0aa46a9188e8afffa4093%257Ciid%253A4

Paraclete makes good stuff(still did after they were bought by MSA) if it is your size I would say jump on it.

why wouldn't ukraine be able to make helmets?

Its not that hard and the main difference between the ukraine helmet and the china brand china is that the ukie is tested to a standard in Germany where as the china is just made and sold to amerifats who larp

yeah i just think its unlikely i will ever need it. Its on the list of shit that would be neat to have but i doubt i will ever be shot while already wearing gear and it just becomes less and less likely the more we talk about the specifics of what a helmet would protect me from.

i honestly wouldn't even wear my plate carrier once i left my home or vehicle during SHTF.

OPERATOR TIER OPERATORS used to modify their own uniforms with additional pouches, velcros and such before ACU cut was a thing:

How do you guys configure your PCs?

I'm thinking of keeping 3 Mags in the Kangaroo Pouch (Duh).

Should the IFAK go on the side or in front?

Also, what are the best mag pouches to go with, and are dump pouches a necessity?
>>
>>33971115
Configure it to your needs. Mag pouches are what you are quickest/best with. They all hold mags.
>>
>>33971115
Try to keep as much shit off of it as you can. Armor is already heavy enough as it is. I have 3 mags and a tourniquet on mine(sometimes a hydration pack too), everything else is on my belt or in a pack.
>>
>>33971115
I like to run 3 mags in the front, but I also have the BFG triple mag pouch molle'd on my mag pouches so I can have 3 more mags if needed, or use it to hold multitools or other stuff. Have a tournique pouch under my right arm. Radio pouch under my left arm. Hydration on back.

IFAK, 1 mag pouch, holster, 2 pistol mags and utility on my belt.

Ew LMAC a shit. It comes with fucking MOLLE Stix to hold the side plate pockets in ffs. Sure it's $160, but then you have to immediately upgrade the cumberbund to either the buckles or Velcro.

Literally anything BFG sucks except their slings and I've owned a lot of BFG because it kept getting recommended to me and looked functional but never was. MOLLE Minus, TKN, Micro TKN, LMAC, Ten Speed, all sold or in the junk pile.

Hey Johnson, instead of being a whiney, holier than thou kike, why don't you just answer simple questions about what gear you recommend?

Is it that hard to understand that when someone asks for recommendations, out of genuine curiosity, that they are in fact unaware of the knowledge they're asking about?

I know I'm not experienced with gear, to be fair, 95% of the population of this board is and it's not a knowledge base one can reasonably be expected to know about.

TLDR; Stop being a contrarian faggot and just ignore questions you aren't going to give a useful answer too.

How about you fucking do your research like the rest of us? Where do you think we came from? We read what other people said. Look at you, just starting out and demanding that people just answer you. Gear? What the fuck do you even want gear for ? You want to play dress up. Gear takes time, i have 6 plate carriers and only care for 2 of them. I have every type of pouch out there and found I don't really care for anything but mags and an IFAK. Get what you think you want and practice. Its expensive, you will waste a ton of money and find out that what A2 says doesn't work for you so you try what blue says and then you realize both are wrong and you try what [other trip] says and so forth. How about you fucking go out, find what you think you want and try it out then come back with results? Or should I just tell you get a [generic plate carrier] get a 3 shingle kangaroo mag pouch, get an IFAK pouch and a water source VIOLA you are a Larperator enjoy yourself. Same as cold weather gear, what fucking makes you warm use it.

>>33971430
>yeah just don't ask people what's proven to work for them, you should suffer through buying gear and waste money on things you would have otherwise discarded as options because they were sub par for other people

In literally every activity I get involved in, be it camping/backpacking, fishing, building ARs, etc..., there are things that are universally known as the right way to do things, and before I get into gear, I want to make sure I'm doing things correctly.

So a question about, for example, what mag pouches people prefer, isnt really unreasonable at all.

I would Lurk, but when someone is just starting off it's difficult to ascertain exactly what to begin looking at.

We've literally all been there in literally every hobby and people that get mad at newcomers for daring to ask questions from a position of ignorance are faggots.

There is a velcro patch inside the top loop on the PC that holds the stick in place. The lip on the bottom of the stick prevents the side pocket loops from slipping off.

So you just took up a trip and decided you needed to be known by such just because? Whats the point you are trying to prove, you are new? We do this all the time. I'm giving you the answers. Get gear you think is right based on what you read here and then fucking practice with it and find out for yourself what works best. Here is one of my plate carrier. Go from here.
>>
>>33971517
On top of that nothing I bought is really "garbage" or sub par, in fact everything I have is perfectly viable. To me personally I just don't fucking use it because it doesn't work best for me. What flavors you like are the flavors you like. I don't like yellow plate carriers I think they look fucking stupid so I buy green ones. Doesn't mean the yellow one is any less than mine. You get it? I wanted to get a tac vest to hold spare mags and sidearm, keep it ready in the closet in bedroom.

My biggest fear is home invasion, would I have time to actually react to sound, get it on and get into position? I'm in like a 700 sq foot apartment.

Opinions?

Would it even be necessary? I always have a 60 round in the AR15, is that enough to fend off a home invasion?

for those of you that keep your sidearm on your rig, where do you attach it? On a larger PC I would just stick it on the chest, but with the smaller ones it's a challenge to find room for the mag pouches.

Duty drop/drop hangerl/belt drop/belt hanger/(combination of the aforementioned words) is an adapter for a holster system that is designed to lower a holster below a belt line so it doesnt interfere with a carrier. If you put it on a carrier it might drop it to your belt line or around there.

My bad, I forgot you were using a shittier design of an outdated concept to larp and take pictures. With that whole point being that all I have is a couple chest rigs, that have purpose, while you have a plate carrier with plates, which you have stated you do not intend on using when it would be of most use, yet you accuse me of being a fantasy operator. And of course all while you imagine that if shtf you are going to ruck out ten miles and live in/off the wilderness.
>>
>>33974114
actually i was going to ruck to my cabin which has a well, stored food, and solar.

I collect gear because it's a hobby. I shoot guns because it's fun. I called you a fantasy operator because you seem to think that its the only point in having gear.

>the only point in having gear is to be a fantasy operator.

I'm speaking specifically about YOU OWNING BALLISTIC PLATES AND SAYING YOU WOULDNT USE THEM IN A SITUATION (compared to the rest of your entire life) THAT WOULD HAVE A DECENT LIKELYHOOD OF YOU GETTING SHOT AT.

If it's just a hobby, why wouldn't you get training plates? What's the point of buying cheap, heavy ceramic plates(that you say are too heavy to leave your house or your vehicle with them) that you plan on never using if the situation arises that you could use them? Don't get me wrong, I HIGHLY doubt I'll ever have to really use my gear, and hope I won't ever have to, but you can be damn sure if I think there is a big enough threat for me to feel the need to pick up my ar, or bug out, or anything like that, I'm picking up my fucking micro fight as well, I'm not going to just leave it laying because it weighs 4 extra pounds, or because its uncomfortable compared to not wearing it.

Get a 12g bandoleer, cut it to 4-6 shell strips.
Sew/Gorilla glue velcro to them.
These will fit into most mag pouches that will hold STANAG magazines. Find a chest rig/platecarrier with female velcro on it and you're good.

Yeah, sure doubt one of the world's largest arms exporters have any capability of designing and making defense equipment. Being able to do that and therefore maintain their largest export would be stupid.

>>33969254
No, they're way overpriced these days. Save for an APC or a JPC for the best entry-level plate carrier.

What are some good brands for low profile chest rigs? I've been looking at Blue Force Gear, HSGI, and Tactical Tailor, but there's got to be more companies out there that make some nice small chest rigs. >pls tell me you wear woodland camo gear
I generally wear civilian hiking clothes, although I do often wear an M81 BDU jacket or M65 jacket when I'm in the woods. I have a black low-pro MOLLE belt that I wear a Beretta, 3 pistol mags, a dump pouch, and a Blue Force Micro Trauma Kit on. I'm planning on ordering some black Tyr Tactical MP5 pouches and a black Haley flatpack to integrate into a chest rig setup for a PCC/subgun. I dig the aesthetic of low-profile black gear on civilian clothes/woodland. I know subguns are kind of shit, but I've got a waifish physique and I only shoot for recreation, so it doesn't really matter.
