Are PPKs a good concealed carry gun? I know there's better options but fuck, sometimes I just want to feel like James Bond.
>>33938109
As long as it's not the PP model in .32

You shouldn't be a gun owner

welcome to /k/
>>33938152
The only problem with the jericho is it's weight being a little on the heavy side though, and the slide mounted safety. Both of which can be allayed.
>not CC'ing the golden gun
>>33938109
I've actually heard the Bersa Thunder is preferred over the PPK by some people just because it's a little more modern. And it's also only like 250 bucks.
>>33938109
PPK's are the fucking bomb
I'll be buying a wartime PPK in 7.65 as soon as I find one for a decent price.

Jaems Bond is a hcauvanistic alcoholic retard, who couldn't figure out that .25acp isn't enough, and then when it almost got him killed, "Stepped it up" to a .32, because he's a fuckin tard. don't do ANYTHING other than party, like Bond
>>33938143
I bought a USP9C because it makes my cia posting more fun
>>33938109
Overweight old design with limited capacity and unnecessary recoil. Endless modern wonder 9s that do every single objective thing better.

>>33938242
If you shake a martini with ice in the shaker you get a layer of crystals on the surface, which is actually not what you want
>>33938242
Shaking a martini bruises the gin. It's a way to be extra dumb and take away any flavor the drink would actually have
>>33938486
It's a vodka martini you wank.
Regardless, martinis taste terrible and should be drank by no one.

when you grow up you will realize that wanting to feel like James Bond is reason enough to buy a PPK

Ian Fleming has said multiple times that he wrote in " Shaken, not stirred" to sound cool.
Everyone knows it's shit tho
>>33938109
I really like the LCP. I feel like it's a more modern compliment to the PPK, it is lighter and more compact but has the same shape and sleekness as a PPK.

>>33938109
Yeah they're fine. Until the Glock 26 came out it was either PPK or a snubnose for compact carry. I used to carry one, only problem I have with it was the weight. If there was a scandium version I'd probably buy it.
>>33938842
literally kill yourself, you insufferable cunt
>>33938169
>implying you can CC a block
>>33938152
Have an older model import that jams on every/any mag. Not going to carry that weight.
>>33938109
I have one and the novelty of carrying it wore thin quick. The gun is heavy which helps tame the recoil of a straight blowback design, the recoil is manageable tho just excessive for a .380. The weight is the desiring factor IWB is a pain because it pulls your pants down and even shoulder holsters were a pain in the butt. If you want it as a range toy and aesthetics do it I always felt cool carrying mine however practicality is not there with this gun. Also get the ppk/s model for an added round. Pic related my Walther. Also look for original Walther a not the new smith and Wesson makes
>>33938313
Reminder that Makarovs are better, more reliable, and easier to maintain than a ppk.
>>33939459
>pulls your pants down
Learn how to tighten a belt.
>>33939459
I don't understand people complaining about weight, especially on a small pistol. I carry a full size 1911. Get a proper gun belt for fucks sake.
>>33939673
>hurr get strong pleb
>I carry a firearm in an outdated caliber with limited capacity and excess weight
When you have guns so light and controllable that you practically forget you are carrying it makes a world of difference
>>33939369
Well people CC glocks all the time, so it shouldn't be a problem
>>33939725
It really doesn't, though. I used to carry a shield, now I carry a makarov. Makarov is heavier but I shoot better with it so it's the obvious choice.
>>33939754
Your choice, however weight is a legitimate concern especially depending on your job and level of activity. I'm more likely to carry something light and thin than something more heavy
>>33939725
That's not the point. Your gun shouldn't sag your pants. Just get a good holder and belt. It's not like I'm telling you to cc a Deagle.
>>33938313
Why does the Makarov look like it's of higher quality?
>>33939944
Because it is.
>>33939966
Nop
>>33939944
Because slavboos are the weakest race and Slav firearm design is always two steps behind the developed world except for CZ of course
>>33938143
And that's the whole reason the Model 29 took off.
>>33938109
define "good"
I carry a sig p229 and consider it good, but others will say its to heavy or DA/SA is shit and I should get a glock instead
the walther is older, heavier, probably more expensive because of its status and there are arguably better pistols in its size that are cheaper, lighter, or shoot something bigger. But its still a good gun. It shoots straight and will kill somebody just the same

I disagree, I think the LCP and its ilk (pocket .380's) are more analogous to the .25 Beretta that Bond originally carried.
The modern analog to the PPK would be a Sig P938 or S&W Shield, or something.
Technology gives us .380s the size of yesteryear's .25s and 9s the size of yesteryear's .380s/.32s.
Of course, none of them are as dead-sexy as the Beretta .25 and Walther PPK.

>>33941730
About tree fiddy
They're heavier than they should be and don't handle recoil as well as their weight suggests. That's sad for a .380 I would tell you to look at the Bersa but they are pretty cheap feeling and questionable for CC, despite all of the things it does better than the Walther. Their size is exaggerated by people that think LCP's are large pistols, the thing will slip straight into a normal jeans pocket.
>>33942015
I've got one, love it
>>33938109
No, not particularly.
>>33938519
The "vodka martini" in question is actually a gin martini with added vodka. Bond orders it as follows in Casino Royale. (The original novel, not the movie.)
>Three measures of Gordon's, one of vodka, half a measure of Kina Lillet. Shake it very well until it's ice-cold, then add a large thin slice of lemon peel.
I've made a modern approximation (Lillet changed their recipe and you have to mix a couple of other things to get close to the '50s version) and it's actually pretty good.
>>33940332
Take it easy, orbital bovine herder.
>>33943170
>I've made a modern approximation (Lillet changed their recipe and you have to mix a couple of other things to get close to the '50s version) and it's actually pretty good.
post it
>>33939944
Because its probably the one made in germany.
>>33943303
If you can find it, Cocchi Americano is the closest you can get to Kina Lillet.
Otherwise you can get Lillet Blanc and add some regular bitters, it's not perfect but is much closer to the classic flavor than a normal martini with vermouth.
(I misremembered BTW, it's not that Lillet changed their recipe but that they discontinued the specific variant used in the classic "vesper" martini.)
>>33938134
Walther PPK, 7.65mm with a delivery like a brick through a plate-glass window; takes a brush silencer with very little reduction in muzzle velocity. The American CIA swears by them.
>>33938237
Get on mine.
>>33944588
I assume the Jericho is because of Spike, so is the P.38 because of Lupin?
>>33944588
Correct on the Jericho, but the P38 (it's actually a French made P1) is just becasue I've always wanted one and found it for a good deal (300) at a gunshow. When it comes to WW2 pistols, a lot of people drool over Lugers and 1911s, but I always liked the P38 more. I was almost able to get my hands on a really nice Vis.35 for around 700, but car issues ate my tax return.
>>33938109
I've been carrying a Sig P230 for years with no issues. Don't see how there would be any issue with a ppk.
My gf loves the PPK. It's a handy little pistol, fits my hand perfectly for how tiny it is. Mine has been dead reliable since I bought it in 2009.
