Hello /k/, youngfag here, so to start off, I unfortunately live in California. All of my coworkers, and so-called friends are very anti-gun whores. The only people who knew anything about guns left California so I'm turning to here to get some advice.
I'd like to say I understand the basics of gun safety but I haven't been officially certified. I want to purchase an ar-15/ar-10, mainly because I enjoyed shooting my uncle's, and in my opinion they are aesthetically pleasing. I'm unsure of what I'd need to get prior to owning one so I turn to you, /k/.
Also aesthetically pleasing gun thread.

Don't fall for this OP.
aesthetically pleasing guns you say?
so california likes to tax the fuck out of you so what you need is to pass the firearms safety certificate test. $25. then you can waltz into a store like the one you just got that certificate from and buy a lower or a completed gun. the gun store will know what's legal so you don't have to worry about that. if you want to buy a gun off the internet then you have to know if it's legal or not (spoiler: most guns aren't CA legal). if it has a stupid looking grip it's probably legal though. no one gets a gun with a stupid grip if they don't have to.
you also need to be 18 for a complete gun or 21 for a lower

I also live in California and refuse to buy a new bastardised rifle, so I've pretty much stuck to bolt action milsurps and will continue to until I move. This way I can collect some guns I actually want to own while also complying to my removal of rights.

The mag tube extending beyond the muzzle is fucking gross. About as un-aesthetic as it gets.
