Let's say, hypothetically obviously, you have a cute girl in your life. Girlfriend, wife, could even be sister or daughter. What gun would you personally want them to carry to fend up groid rapists and the like if you had to choose?

Has to be something they can actually carry and use, and assume they are on the smaller size or average size for a girl

Rugar LCR in .38 special, and highly advise +P rounds.

Let's be honest here, the "women don't have enough grip strength to operate a semi-automatic" meme has some truth to it.

I would rather help them train to do better than encourage them to be weak.
>>
>>33918503
Not only this - if it's just self-defence/carry weapon then they're probably not going to spend too much time on range, and let's be honest - revolvers are easier to operate if you're panicked and badly trained.

Just think about simple thing - you carry with loaded chamber, but you forget about this, like that nigger robber on a video that was posted around here recently. Now of course you can say - if he drilled with drawing the pistol with loaded chamber it would've been automatic for him and he wouldn't jam his gun. But he didn't drill.

On revolver? Pull the trigger, kill the nigger, there's literally no philosophy to it.
>>
>>33918554
On the contrary, the best self defense revolvers are usually terrible range guns - not fun to shoot, kick like mules.

Would you be better apt to steer them to something they may enjoy practicing with?

Why would a good DA/SA automatic be a bad idea if you are worried about them freezing with fear to take a safety off?
>>
>>33918595
DA/SA automatic is absolutely awful idea because you have uneven trigger pulls - they'll waste either first or second shot(which in self-defence situations are statistically the most useful ones). This is the perfect example of experts only gun - if you practice using them, they're great, if you don't, they're garbage.

As I've said - I wouldn't expect woman to actually practice with her gun and if she will practice then she'll figure out that she may upgrade and will understand why did you tell her to grab a revolver as her first gun. Also .38 snub won't be kicking that hard.

The correct answer is "The one that they are most comfortable and capable with".

For my wife, that is pic related. She can pick it up, load or reload it, operate all the controls comfortably, and put 7 rounds center of mass at 15 yards quickly and accurately. She's utterly uninterested in firearms and is very small-framed. Moreover, when I handed her a single-action .22 revolver, it was an incomprehensible uncomfortable mystery to her. I have no idea why, and I don't care; she is death with a 1911. I'm happy.

Honestly, it just all depends on the woman. So, if you have a woman you care about and would like to buy her a firearm-- take her to the range! Rent some guns! Make a date/bonding time/whatever out of it!

Just whatever you do, don't randomly buy a "ladies model" shrinked-and-pinked piece of shit, plop it in her lap, and think you've done a good job. You're fucking up.

>fend up groid rapists

first she needs to move to different area that doesn't have this risk

otherwise ruger lcp with galloway trigger kit, it weighs 19z ezpz recoil

if racking the slide is a problem then there is no way she would be able to handle +p 38 recoil

or some other quality 380 seecamp naa but they have lonnnnnnng trigger pulls

or possibly glock 15z if she can handle it, any 380 less than 15z will kick alot
>>
>>33918682
I hate to agree with this annoying tripfaggot, but he is right. Let her choose for herself the gun she is most comfortable with. Rent several CCW pistols for her at the range, and see what kind of gun she becomes attached to.

Also, turn off your trip faggot.
>>
>>33918503
My mom has a LCRX (has the hammer) and it kicks like fire with a 158gr bullet, actually hurts the web of your hands
It got a lot better when I started making 125 it got a lot better, but still much more recoil than my XD-40 with 200gr bullets
I'd still carry it though
>>
>>33918678
Carry hammer back on the Da/Sa and you have the best of all worlds

How's the p239?
>>
>>33918682
Cant agree more. I went the .380 ppk route with my wife. She hated it and shot my gold cup every chance she got. Ended up buying a kimber pro cdp. She shot a few uspsa practice rounds with me. Very good shot and suprisingly quick with 165 power factor loads

Wait... does this mean that the 1911 is a chick gun?
>>

Those suckers are wide and heavy as hell, it's a fucking single stack that's as wide and heavy as a full size Glock or M&P. I'd maybe consider a S&W 3913 or 908 if you NEEDED a DA/SA.
>>
>>33918796
Kek, honestly though, some amount of training for your wife isn't a bad idea. I'm not suggesting taking a dynamic rifle or pistol class, but shit even a basic class to teach basic pistol skills is good.
>>
>>33918830
Even living in a nice neighborhood has those risks. Groids specifically choose nice areas to break into.
>>
bought my fiance and her sister pepper spray because they live in a sketchy area. they aren't anti gun but would never carry one.
>>
>>33919066

Brotip: If you ever get a girlfriend, don't ever, ever offer to "train" her.
>~THEMOARUNO~
>>
>>33919590
why?
>>
My girlfriend just recently took to being interested in carrying, and she's going to be picking up a Walther PPS. She's 5'1", and weighs 97 pounds... so actually being able to conceal something on her frame is an issue. She already knew how to shoot okay when I met her though, so that's a large determining factor in her knowing what she wanted.
>>
>>33918477
I'd recommend a revolver like a Ruger LCR, but ultimately they would need to pick what they feel suits them best.
>>
>>33919694

I dont think it means anything more than some people shoot well with guns that others wouldnt expect them to. Is 9mm a half male caliber? Maybe. Maybe not. If they shoot it well i dont care what they use
>>
>>33919510
The pk? I think i said ppk above. I ment pk380. Had ftf and fte that i couldnt fix. Came close with reworking the ramp and extractor. She liked the grip angle on 1911s better to.
>>
>>33919824
It was a joke m8.

>>33919694
Would you like it if you went shooting with your friend, and he said he was going to "train" you?

Actually, this is not a bad idea for states that specify that you need a permit to carry a pistol, but don't say anything about rifles.

I've trained my current gf. She loved it. Try showing a female that you actually have testicles, man up and show her how its done. The only "men" afraid of training women are those that can't project an aura of confidence and dominance. Git gud

Ruger LCR, .38 Spl +P

I would also give her some defensive training and practice drawing and firing with her in a clinch scenario. I want her to be comfortable carrying and using a weapon in defense of her self.

Have you ever asked yourself why you have to try so hard

Best carry option for a woman. Rapist confronts her, sees the bulge, figures it's a trap and leaves.

Results may differ on /b/.

Yeah some truth, but it's always paired with advice to get a snub with a 12lb trigger rather than advice on technique.

But I date a gym rat that has an M&P45c, LCP, and is looking to get a LCR or 442.

My wife just got one... she likes it pretty well so far where she hated to shoot just about every other gun I have. What ammo does she carry with? Factory ammo is expensive and my dies aren't coming until Friday... I've always cussed 380 brass now I need a bunch more...
