So pistol grip shotguns are retarded and single point slings are retarded but hypothetically what if you pushed the shotgun forward hard while the sling attaches the gun to your chest? In theory could that be faster than mounting a proper cheek weld?
>>
>>33881408
Why don't you fire some full recoil buckshot through it and tell me how fast your follow-ups are compared to a stocked one, champ?

No, pushing with a sling is not faster than a stock. Ask me how I know

>>

But pistol grips like OP Are dildos. Birdshead grips like the shockwave = Sex
>>

I carried a pistol grip Mossberg with a single point sling like the one pictured at a prison in southern Iraq. It was much more comfortable to carry and maneuver around with during riots.

But this is k, filled with autismos wth zero life experience touting their opinion as irrefutable fact.
>>
>>33882030
We're you able to get follow up shots? Did you ever run "real" rounds through it?
>>
>>33882296
he's using it against people in prison. id imagine it was mostly hip fire tier shit.
>>
>>33881440
I've shot a club shotgun like in pic related without the sling and it wasn't that bad. I was just asking if you used a sling as an "anti stock" would that be viable for combat or is it one of those things that look good on paper but fail IRL. No need to get so upset.
>>
>>33882310
Yeah I imagine but I also imagine that since he had to rely on this weapon for his safety he would go out and practice actual combat stances and methods and aiming and what not?
>>
>>33881690
fixed ejectors instead of spring loaded ejectors and a high-velocity bolt cause violent ejection. FAL suffers this fate also.

The more mass you're moving and the thinner that trigger bar is, the more travel and creep that trigger will have. The trigger mechanism isn't completely rigid, parts flex, and frictions increases the more material you add.

Looking at this I realize I have no idea how those belt feed things work
>>
>>33884960
Expanding gases forces the bolt and bolt carrier to unlock and proceed rearward. At which point a guide in a guide track pulls on the belt to align the next round to be put into the chamber to be fired. The rest is like any other semi auto.

Just buy the shockwave and throw a folding pistol brace on the back. Still not a butt stock but keeps the oal above 26 inches so you can keep the 14.5 inch barrel but now have something to shoulder.

I bought a ruger 10/22 recentetly. When the bolt is closed and the hammer is decocked, I can't engage the safety.

The only way I've found to engage the safety is to pull the bolt back first and then it'll get engaged.

But when you pull the bolt back, you cock the hammer, no?

i dont understand this hammer/safety/bolt relationship

please fill me in. I guess my question is "why can't you have the safety on with the bolt closed with the hammer de-cocked" and also how should I store the gun then

Also, if you didn't post that picture as bait, no, it's a bad case for "greymanning". In fact, it kinda reminds me of those trucks plastered with 2A and gun company stickers, that scream "I HAVE A GUN!!!! If you smash all of this car's windows when it's left unattended in the Applebee's parking lot, you can probably find a shotgun or AR pistol in here!"
>>
>>33881408
proper cheek weld willl always be better for obvious reasons. Still a pistol grip shotgun is fine for home defense if you know how to use it. There is little reason to worry about the ability of your hone defense gun if you are practiced with it and it is STRONG and RELIABLE, get a light mount my dude, you need it for mid-night self defense.
>>
Does the CZ Scorpion Evo accept standard AR-15 type trigger mechanisms? I've pretty much decided that the Scorpion will be my next gun, but I'm picky about triggers and have heard complaints about it. I haven't had a chance to try the trigger myself, so it would be nice to have a backup plan. The autism in me also wants to put a binary trigger in it.
>>
>>33885594
There's OTFs (out-the-front automatics). And there are a handful of folding box cutters, but they're usually not made for EDC.
>>
>>33885556
Store the gun with the safety off and the hammer decocked obviously. You don't need the safety on.
I don't know how it works mechanically, all I know is the safety only works if the hammer is cocked. That's all you need to know.

It depends on how far you are from other houses and the road. I think the minimum distance from the road and from other houses you have to be to shoot is 500 feet. As for innawoods make sure it's either your property, private property that you have permission to shoot on, or public land, check the laws and rules of the public land though just to be safe.

if the gun is at low ready (or high ready), and you then raise the gun to sight in on a target, the distance you need to move the gun (be it a pgo setup or standard stock) is the same
...and with the pgo, singlepoint sling or not, you still deal with only having two points of physical contact with the gun..it's more difficult to achieve steady, accurate sight picture
>>
>>33888729
I literally just went out and bought two tan shirts from saver's, one was closer to khaki so I chose that for the Brit one. My inspiration was to use sand colored shirts so it would be exactly like the emblem were on a panzer or a crusader. When I order the blank shirts in bulk I'm gonna get them all in the same sand color though. Great to know you're interested. I've been using this straw poll so I know roughly how many shirts to order.

You always shoot pistol grip shotguns from the hip or you risk a broken nose
If you practice it's really not that inaccurate at home defense distances. Tendency is to shoot high, just aim for the intruders dick and the shot shouldn't go over thier heads.

Well Satan, depends on ammo and rifle.

Any auto 3 or 4 inches is fine. Maybe a little larger if you have absolutely terrible bullets.

A cheap bolt action, 2-3 inches with cheap ammo and between 1 and 2 with expensive bullets.

An expensive bolt action. Under an inch with expensive ammo and under 2 always.

The XC1 kinda sucks, and unless you're CCWing a S&W TRR8 the X300U's four-ounce weight isn't going to make the gun burdensomely heavy.

Springfield supports gun control in exchange for kickbacks from the Illinois government.
Modern Rugers are fine, and their customer service can handle any lemons they may crank out from time to time.

Ruger GP100 or Security Six will be your best bets.

>>33891778
Hmmm, frankly I haven't heard anything about that regarding ruger. Remingtons been awful for over a decade now. even if a ruger product has some sort of issue they'll fix it for you. very good customer service there.

Personally I own a sr1911 commander length (not that other anon btw). Good gun, reliable, and the sights it came with were great. My only two complaints would be that when it was first being broken in it didn't seem to agree with grease(at least in cold weather) and that the trigger was kinda heavy on mine at first. Both problem have since resolved themselves and I even carry the thing from time to time.

If you're looking to try the old "get an out of state permit to CC below my states legal limit" thing then id recommend Maine. Couldn't find much info out there on the subject but from what i did find it's technically legal(at least in my state) but your average cop may not know that and your local prosecutor may be very displeased with you if it comes to their attention. Personally i just waited tell my state passed permitless carry.

Sound is literally pressure waves, and loudness is a measure of pressure over a given area.
5.56 is a higher-pressure cartridge than 12ga or 22lr, so it's typically louder.
Also that shooter may have had a rifle equipped with a muzzle brake that redirects the expanding gases at the muzzle and makes the gun even louder.

What are the laws regarding shooting distances to other properties in Connecticut? I live on a 3.5 acre plot and a small band of raccoons have been consistently killing my chickens. Recently the band killed my entire flock, and before I get more chickens I would like to deal with the issue. I was thinking of purchasing a cheap .22lr and following the raccoons back into the wooded area of my property (My coop is fairly close to my neighbor's property) and shooting them. I know the CT law says not within 500 ft of an occupied dwelling, is there anything else I need to be cognizant of? The wiki says that setting up a .22 plinking range is OK if you're a few miles away from everyone, but I am not. The neighbors will be able to hear, obviously, but the problem has to be dealt with, these raccoons have an established pattern and know my chickens are easy food.

Me: baseball/softball bats, cricket bat, fuckton of hockey sticks, skee-ball in a sock, bike chain, tennis/racquetball racquets, can of Raid, couple of pool sticks and a 14" Stihl chainsaw next to my door.

Looks to me like it has a stock and 16" barrel so it'd be a "rifle." Unless it's shorter than 16" and they have a Form 1 on it for an SBR. If the barrel was shorter and didn't have the stock it would be a pistol. I think you're fine. Definitely do through an FFL

They're cheap, unreliable trash for making a quick buck off of COD kiddies who want a real steel MP5 or whatever.

Guys I'm thinking of buying a bolt-action rifle but I have a few things I want to be possible.
I want to easily change the barrel, and I want it to be convertible to 22LR easily.
If possible, also magazine fed and with a good aftermarket.
Is there anything here that I wouldn't be paying out the ass for ( Europe here ) ?
One of the reasons is that I'm so autistic I think that most .22LR bolt actions being sold here are shit quality and I want something that is more sturdy and durable than necessary.

I'm in the market for a uzi, cobray or mac, (something of that style), but I'm not too familiar with them beyond the obvious clichés of Miami, Cocaine, urban culture, open bolt, etc, etc.. What's my best choice if I plan on using it at the range and getting it scrathced up in the woods while varmint hunting?
>>
>>33899917
MACs are classic beginner NFA, but they run upwards of $6000 these days.
Uzis are nicer, but cost twice as much or more depending on whether you go for a registered bolt (restricted to one caliber) or registered receiver.
For obvious reasons I would advise against subjecting transferables to unnecessary wear and tear, and against varmint hunting with handgun calibers in general.

>>

I was thinking more of a current production one thats semi only.. more like a cobray M12 in 380, Walther-Uzi 22lr, etc.
My problem with it is I have no clue on them beyond their older open bolt counterparts.
Under $1000 is where i'm looking.

I'm not convinced that a semi-auto subgun "pistol" would be enough fun to justify its existence, even as an SBR starter; especially not a "Walther" .22LR "Uzi", for reasons discussed previously ITT.
MP5 pistols are the obvious exception, but those are way outside your stated budget.

Now, can I get any help as to what's the best cheap, pure, fun I can get, just because I fucking can, under $1000?

If you insist, the IWI Uzi Pro pistol is fine.
It's based on the Micro Uzi, which sucks; I wish they made a Mini version (mini uzi is best girl).
It's got railz for your optic and weaponlight, but the mag release has been moved up to the rear of the trigger guard, so you can't save any shekels by using surplus Uzi mags.

>is tula and wolf ball ammo good enough?
fuck no, ignoring the fact that its just worse steel case ammo is more likely to rust up when stored improperly. tulas fine for range use but you dont want that shit for longterm storage. your cheap bulk ammo wont show up in spam cans it will be in paperboxes.

>>33906812
what should i get then? is wolf gold good enough?
>>
>>33906741
God no. If you're storing it long term then get brass case, it won't completely erode like steel. Tula and Wolf are for training or plinking purposes, you learn how to shoot with it or you shoot it at the range, not to hunt or defend your life with it. Store in oil and/or metal containers.
It would be a good idea to decide between .223 or 7.62x39, you don't really need 2 different intermediate calibers, especially since you have a .308. The best thing would be military surplus brass case or the closest thing to it like NATO stamped cases. Factory loads would be the most reliable, but if you can't afford that much reserve ammo, then reloading could be a good option for you, especially if you want to have ammo after the apocalypse or whatever happens.
