Are there any take down shotguns currently being manufactured? Preferably ones that aren't pieces of shit?

Go get a 50s production 1897.

Are those better than a Cimarron repro?

>modern take down pump

Wonder why that went out of style. If Mossberg did that with the 590 that would be pretty hot

cost? proly cheaper to build a shotgun that doesn't com apart.

Mainly cost and folding stocks/ AOW already being sold

People are usually willing to spend an extra $100 for functionality. If there's a market, people will produce for it.

If it weren't for SBS laws there might be a bigger market but as it stands 18 inches of barrel makes take down not compact enough to make it worth it.

Why is a 10/22 worth it? Why were take down shotguns worth it in the 50s?
>>
This would be pretty convenient

Pretty much every shotgun today is a takedown by default, you just have to unscrew the mag cap AND the tube.

Of course it's won't stay loaded in that case but nobody is going to bother. Virtually every modern shotgun came about as a way to make shotguns cheaper and easier to produce. If you ever think about how retardedly easy it is to swap a shotgun barrel it starts to make sense.

It's incredibly annoying, even the repro 1897's I see aren't takedown.
What's worse is I have an authentic 1897 but the barrel is so long even the takedown feature is kind of pointless in terms of making it small.
For takedown to be meaningful it needs to be applied to an 18" tactical shotgun like the one at the bottom of the picture and my guess would be that those are too much of a niche market.

Deff on the model 12s
