Will a gun explode if I am waving it around as I shoot it? Cause as the bullet is traveling through the barrel if I am moving the gun, the barrel will slam into the bullet as the bullet is travling though the barrel. What if this happens? Has it ever happened and why or why not?
>>
>>33874318
I... what?

that's not how physics work. the bullet moves with the gun. it doesnt lose all relative velocity because you pulled the trigger
>>
Take a bullet and try to push it down the front of your gun. You'll have your answer.
>>
>>33874318
Well, some instances of shitty barrel manufacture have led to things KBing.

But your average gun with a steel barrel will not.

Actually, it's interesting, this exact shit is part of why the AR-10 in its original form wasn't adopted.
There were some problems with the alloy barrels warping and eventually tearing and having rounds go through the operators hand.
>>
>>33874335
yes but it has velocity relative to gravity and earth not relative to the gun
imagine if you're in an airplane and you are using a fan to make a napkin hover in the air, then suddenly the airplane jerks very suddenly and quickly to the side
the napkin will fall off the fan
>>33874346
Um what? How does this answer it?
>>
>>33874377
What is KBing?

No, for one it's not how physics work, for another most bullets move faster than you could possibly react.
>>
>>33874595
Yes it is how physics works, look at >>33874378
Like what if I am waving the gun at 1000 miles per hour?

yes. Exercise caution.

You know they put guns on fast-moving things like jets and such, right?
>>
>>33874685
How can I avoid this ever happening to me?
>>
>>33874719
The real trick is learning how to curve shots (think curve ball), by flicking your wrist as you fire.
>>
>>33874718
Yea but they don't fire guns on jets
>>
>>33874740
Wait this could actually hlep someone win a war
Can you please teach me?

My bf hates that movie. Says "it's bad because it practices 'obscurism'"

Should I find another bf?

How fucking retarded are you?!! How can someone be this retarded?!!! First off the bullet is the same size as the fucking bore, there is no tolerance for it to slam into the barrel. And secondly the bullet is travel very fucking fast, so unless you're flailing your arms about at supersonic speeds you should be fine.

So please do everyone a favour and scoop your brain up off the carpet and insert back into your thick fucking skull before you go making threads you fuck mothering retard!!

>>
>>33874818
Not relevant, it's more about technique they just use those equations for when they are designing the guns on fighter jets. Just do like it says on the diagram, it's hard to do at first but after a couple of weeks of practice you should be alright.

I want to know the letters to make it most accuraet though
>>
>>33875077
Accuracy comes with practice, those equations are made for big and expensive machines. Just learn to curve it first by following the instructions in the diagram then just work on your accuracy. Realistically if you have good curve aim you won't need those equations until your past 700m.

It is true that firing through a barrel which is moving around imparts additional stress on the bullet and barrel, as the bullet has to be accelerated laterally by the barrel. If the gun has being rotated about its receiver (muzzle spinning in a circle around the receiver) at a non-negligible rate, firing would be functionally equivalent to shooting through a slightly curved barrel, from a barrel-stress perspective. However, a person will be unable to manually rotate the weapon at a non-neglible rate.

A bullet fired from a moving barrel will retain the velocity of the barrel tip when it exits as well as its forward velocity, meaning that (assuming a still air mass) the airflow across the bullet will be slightly off-axis. Bullets fired into high-speed off-axis airstreams (WWII bomber turrets, helicopter turrets, etc) can experience unpredictable flight behavior making them difficult to aim by other than the "hosepipe" method, although again a human will not be capable of manually achieving a fast enough off-axis airstream by simply moving the weapon.

The biggest problems with firing while the weapon is in motion relate to cycling and extraction/ejection.
>>
>>33875364
I'm going to point out here that even a barrel curved at 45° works just fine. It's not super great for the barrel or super accurate, but it works. So even if you start spinning the gun at a few thousand RPM around the receiver, it'll still work.
>>
>>33874318
The worst it will do is throw off your aim.
>>
>>33874318
>Will a gun explode if I am waving it around as I shoot it?

No, but with enough training you can curve the bullet, thereby changing the direction the bullet travels in mid air, shooting around multiple corners with ease.

Documentary about it released in 2008, filmed in Chicago pretty dog shit but whatever

https://youtu.be/edpEspHOeVU
>>
>>33874318

No, it just causes the bullet to curve. Shit, its like you haven't watched the documentary: Wanted.

>>
>>33874605
clearly you don't understand physics and the theory of relativity. it's the same reason if you are on a bus and drop s ball it doesn't slam into the rear window at 35mph. shoot yourself.
>>
>>33874318
no but the bullet will curve through the air after it leaves the barrel if you shoot the gun while swinging your arm around
>>
>>33874318
I don't believe people are capable of being this stupid. How can you even write English? How many times did your mom drop you on your head?

>>
>>33874318
WTF? is this a real question ?
>>
>>33876701

lol you're just as fucking stupid as op if you can't see how thats not the same thing

the ball is moving at the same speed of the bus

the gun isn't moving at the same speed as the bullet, neck yourself

>>
Is there some kind of a contest on who can make the most retarded thread on /k/? It seems like there is
>>
>>33874318
No, the bullet is already in contact with the barrel, it cannot build lateral or vertical momentum
>>
>>33880768
yeah
>>
>>33874798

Murder him and dissolve the body in lime.
>>
What if you have a robot arm that can turn the gun 180 degrees when the bullet is halfway down the barrel?
>>
>>33881593
Then the bullet fires upside down??
>>
>>33881593
Your arm disintegrates.
>>
The bullet travels through the barrel and is engaged with the rifling. The barrel is strong enough that the gasses and bullet will take the path of least resistance and travel out the barrel. So if you move your arm the bullet will travel with the barrel, and will still follow the path of least resistance.

oh cool
