buy a polish p64.
>>
>>33874213
okay, buy a LCP II. I love it and it's comfy to pocket carry.
>>
>>33874279
How do you find the recoil?

>talk me out of buying the most shootable and reliable .380 pistol
>talk me out of buying a .380 pistol with options for a ridiculously wide range of useable sights

If you insist on a .380, the Glock 42 is a no brainer. The added weight and size is neglible and helps tremendously in its shootability, it's a .380 that you'll actually enjoy and want to practice shooting with.
>>
>>33874268
this
>>
>>33874341
That's basically what is appealing to me about the g42. I have little experience with 380(shot a friends lcp) and I've never shot a glock. But the g42 seems big enough to be shootable without being too large. The aftermarket options are also appealing. I guess my hesistation is all the glocknade memeing and that I'm mostly used to hammer fired guns
>>
>>33874402
Is there a reason that you want a .gun in 380 and not 9x19, 9x18, or .38 Special?
>>
>>33874213
Because you could get a 43 instead
>>
>>33874437
Already have a sub-compact 9, I mean it's great and conceals fine. I just want something more casual that I can slip into a pocket, especially in the summer heat. Figured small gun = small caliber, at least with regards to being able to rapidly put shots on target.
>>
>>33874440
I'm gonna have to second this
>>
>>33874213
Or for $300 and under, bersa thunder
>>
>>33874440
>>33874512
I'm open to it, but the slight increase in size seemed to push it out of pocket territory. Unless someone can correct my assumption, the g42 seems like the better fit for what I want
>>
>>33874495
Go to a gun store and hold a 42 and a LCP or Kahr or something similar. The 42 is a fine gun, but it's a fair bit meatier than the competition.

If you're just used to the Glock platform, though, I wouldn't fuck around with a new pistol for CC, especially if it's a daily carry piece.
>>
>>33874523
It's heavy and big for the caliber.
>>
>>33874533
I'm sure 380 is "enough" but I know 9 is enough. Ya dig? Confidence in your weapon is a big thing to me
>>
>>33874213

Buy it faggot. But dont fall for hollow point meme for .380: it doesnt expand hitting flesh.
>>
>>33874542
Yeah but both of those things make it shoot better
>>
>>33874556
It's the basic size/shootability tradeoff. But when OP is asking specifically about a small summer carry gun, his request starts out pretty far on the size end of the spectrum.
>>
>>33874495
Have you ever handled one of the Airweight S&Ws or a Ruger LCR? They are the same weight and size as a Glock 42, but they're chambered in a cartridge (ie .38 Special +P) that has much better terminal ballistics than .380. They can also do things that the Glock 42 cannot, like fire from inside a pocket or fire while pressed against a target. You DO give up 1+1 rounds of capacity, but it's a small enough tradeoff that they are worth considering.
>>
>>33874542
Have you handled the CC version of the Bersa Thunder? It's much, much more concealable than the standard variant. The only downside it has is that its sights are very low profile.
>>
>>33874611
dont worry i have +2 on initiative and a +1 in concealment.
>>
>>33874268
Fuck the P64.

I just sold mine and bought a G42.

P64 was well made, controls were nice. Gun had a retarded trigger pull in DA. SA was ok. Gun gave me slide bite like you wouldn't believe. Even after i upgraded the recoil spring it pitched like a fire breathing dragon.

G42 is lighter, smaller, shoots better, less recoil, conceals better . . . its a way better gun.
>>
God damn I love my g42, OP. Its a great shooting pistol. I have no problem carrying it consistently and it's simply fucking fantastic.

Do ittttttt
>>
>>33874611
Worthy considerations and I think a super small revolver is definitely in my future. If the gun shop has one I'll give 'er a feel. But for now, I think the Block 42 is really what's catching my eye
>>
>>33874440
Just sold a shitty 380 and hoping to get a g43 or pps soonish
>>
>>33874213
G42 is my daily carry, it's great. Big for a .380, but it basically has no recoil, immensely fun to shoot, but still plenty concealable.
>>
>>33875674
This is truth. P64 looks nice and is tiny. But it sucks.
>>
>>33874437
You can get a 9×18 barrel for the Glock 42.
>>
>>33874313

My 64 year-old mother can load it, rack the slide, and shoot it with no problems several years after having carpal tunnel surgery on both wrists so maybe even you might be able to handle it

>never shot a glock

I've been shooting for a while and I always avoided Glocks because of the gay-ass fanbois. Recently a guy at work offered to sell me a gen4 26 for a good price so I rented one at the range to try it out and ho-lee-sheeyit it was nice even as a beater rental gun. I bought it from the guy and it has become my carry gun when I'm not carrying the lcp ii.
>>
>>33874213
I like my Smith and Wesson Bodyguard because of the slide mounted saftey. Truthfully though it is hard to shoot it's so tiny
>>
>>33874213

do internet search glock 380 is jam city

get a ruger lcp2
>>
>>33874213
You can get LCP Gen 1s for $200 from PSA and some other retailers online. I like it better than the Gen 2, at least the sleekness, as long as you have some experience shooting you'll adapt to the trigger. 8+1 with mag extension. Not a bad little package, barely notice it's the n your person
>>
I love my S&W produced PPK/S. Compared to the polymer .380's it weighs as much as a brick but it's a pleasure to shoot and very easily concealed.
>>
>>33877381
Seecamps are sexy

>>
>>33874213
I absolutely love my g42.
>>
>>33879193
Thing is too big for .380 IMO. A firearm that size you can get in 9mm. Shoulda got that LCP, I tried
>>
>>33879915

The size is what allows it to shoot like a full size handgun, which allows you to outshoot other pocket guns.
>>
>>33874533
For all intents and purposes the 43 and 42 are the same size
