I'm not the hugest fan of 556 as a "fun" caliber. It's an ok caliber, just personal tastes I guess. But I'll be damned if shooting reasonably priced tracers at 400 yard steel out of an rpk doesn't make up for it 1000%.
The modern sgl/slr style ak is tied for the best of the gun world with the vz58s in 762/556 IMO.

AR is superior in every way if you go through the effort of cleaning it after every 500 rounds shot.

Because Eastern Europe inherited the AK factories and already have the tooling available, making it cheaper to keep it and stick with ammo compatibility to NATO standards instead of screwing over their established firearms industry and getting more expensive foreign rifles.

Yup, I think I've got a new fun gun. I knew I'd have some down time here at work, so I just ran my 1mm thread repair tool to get the flash hider on here. Must have had a small area of thread that had a burr or something in it.
IDK why I've had to do that on both of my vepr rifles, the muzzle nut slides on near perfectly, and my yugo grenade launcher attachment work fine too. So did my ak-74 flash hider that I have on a 556 gun. But this cnc warrior one gets stuck until I use that tool.
