Vz's are significantly better than aks quite frankly. The recievers are higher quality, the triggers are this weird striker fired mechanism that pulls cleaner than ak hooks, recoil tends to be less harsh, selector is easier to work.

It looks like an ak but its not. Its honestly just a better built gun quality and design wise. My only complaint is they should have made them take AK mags, the vz mags are good but id rather not have to keep scrounging for obscure magazines when ak mags are a dime a dozen.

Its also short stroke striker fired gun, instead of a long stroke hammer fired gun. A variant would be if it shared basic operating principles and if the parts where similar but not compatible due to having slightly different dimensions or tolerances (like how the galil and RK62/95 are AK variants). The VZ58 is a different gun entirely that doesn't even look that similar to the AK irl. The only thing they share is the caliber.
