You can own them as long as you have a hobby (range, hunting, practical/reservist) use for them. Rifles, shotguns, handguns, military-style semiautomatics. I think the only thing you can't own is full autos. You can't carry them around though, only on the way to these hobbies
>>
Wrong. You can own fully automatic rifles and submachine guns too.
>>
I read about and discuss military hardware.

I work as a tank commander in the Swedish army.

That jacket model is more of an office shirt than a field jacket though, but at the same time better for summer weather. Standard jacket however, is a mixed bag, its either to hot to wear and if its cold enough to be comfortable then you just pray that it wont get windy or else your body temp will drop 20 points.

The pants however, best god damn field pants money can buy. It would be dumb not to buy a pair.

I'm a Swede and I've served in the army, marines and now army again. I'd say I have a lot of experience in firearms. I'm getting a hunters exam this fall and I'll get five firearms soon after. I've been thinking about taking up sports shooting too and if I do that I might get a pistol and perhaps a carbine too.

As the posted chart shows we have a relatively high gun ownership in Sweden and I'm confident that I'll be able to get any type of firearm that I need and want.

Dirt poor swede here, got an old CG M/96. They handed out hunting licenses for free back in school and old army M/96 rifles are next to free so why not I thought.
Mostly interested in old milsurp these days in any case, aluminum, plastics and carbon fiber does not belong on a gun, there should only be steel and wood on a gun, like god intended.
Bakelite is mostly wood so that does not count.
>>
>>33849567
I love that rifle. I was issued a M/38C, an M96 cut down to an M38, lost in a bunker and then refurbished and reissued as an M/38C for ceremonial guard duty. It was made in 1902, shot truer than any other weapon I've used and worked perfectly with one dismantling clean a year.

Klarar man grundskolan klarar man jägarexamen.

Norwegian. Everything is too expensive here. Thinking of getting my drivers license, which would run me around 3.5K USD. There's also 25 bucks or so fee for each gun you get.

I sometimes, but not too often go shooting with guns of people I know, and I used to do some shooting down at my local range. Here is a short video of me shooting a Glock 34, first time I ever fired a pistol.

My educated guess that when the photo was taken she was taken part in "lukiolaisten turvakurssi" courses organized for high-school kids to learn about Defense Forces, Police, Customs etc... Which would make her about 16 - 18 yo.

This is my educated guess mostly due guys on the background, who so obviously are reservists and wearing M/91 camo uniforms, while she has M/62 uniform multiple sizes too large with improvised name label made from duct tape. I have also served as shooting instructor in those courses a few times and this would have been the usual gear few years back.

And yes - chocolate puddings are among the very best desserts included in Finnish military menu.

Norfag here, the only thing I dislike about our gun laws for ar's is that the barrel can't be shorter than 16".

Other than that it's more or less good, can buy suppressors, mags, whatever without any paperwork

>Old M/62 gear,
the pic is old as heavens, and M62 was still used actively in many brigades up until late-00s. It was a paratrooper's "field uniform" up until these very days.
>no tied hair,
her hair's short though, and that much is a-OK in most places. Plus, it could just as well be tied, hard to tell from the pic.
>duckt tape name tag on the wrong side of the chest,
the hell you babbling? It's right where it belongs to.
>those old bearded men on the background
looks like reservists and / or officers, 2bh.

notice how it says guns per capita? thats the total amount of guns in the country divided by how many people there are

in terms of people who own guns versus people who dont own guns, half of europe is actually above america because here we each get a rifle when we graduate from the military, and pretty much every guy who isnt a cuck or a criminal is in the national guard

i fit into the latter category, so they took my g3 away but i could still join a gun club or get a hunting license, it's not like we live in nazi germany and arent allowed to own guns if our noses are too big

it's just that you can't go to walmart and buy a gun from some guy in the parking lot like a fucking apocalypse survivor. and most of the arsenal here is handed out to the public, but i'm assuming you guys don't get to keep your rifles once you're done serving, so your amount of weapons is automatically doubled since you have military weapons caches and civilian owned firearms, in norway we just have one of them
>>
>>33856513

not at all. if you join a club you can buy a gun 6 months after joining. if you're in the military they give you an hk416 or a g3 once you graduate and you get to keep it until you're in your 40s

if you get a hunting license you can get a rifle or a shotgun no questions asked

but it's a hassle and you have to take a test, so stoners and drunks tend to not bother

Pretty cucked, but their violent crime is low, their gun ownership is relatively high, and they are awesome folks.

Notice how despite all that we are actually legally allowed to use our guns and dont get buttfucked by the feds if we load our guns or heaven forbid go anywhere that isnt a gun range with a gun in our vehicle

You could need it for marksmanship training as a hobby.

tfw hunting is hard cause you need to own land or belong to a sekrit club
>>
>>33858617
he's probably just baiting, no one is delusional enough to argue america is not the best country for gun owners

but as far as ownership goes, there's many countries that are way worse than ours and because there are so many memes about our countries, foreigners are ignorant about the gun culture here

OP didn't even know we could own guns because his world view is based on 4chan memes
>>
>>33856492
Nah, if anything we should use 5.45 so we can take the ammo from dead enemies.
>>
>>33858642
>belong to a sekrit club

you mean talk to a land owner and pay to hunt on his land...guess that's the equivelant of joining a secret club if you're an autist that can't talk to people
>>
>>33857454
Lol we get chocolate bars, cereal bars, cinnamon buns etc. for dessert with every meal
>>
>>33858704
I live in the city, I don't know any rural land owners

reservists club it is, I guess

I actually like the nordic countries gun laws out of all the europoors. I think switzerland probably still doing pretty good but at least in Scandi you guys have enough wilderness and wild life to actually do shit with your guns. Also I dont think I've met a scandi who wasnt in their military so theres really something to be said about gun culture there
It'd be one thing if there were a bunch of French or Brits on /k/
I think a better joke would be putting all the aussies on here on blast

I can only speak for Norway.

Technically you do, realistically you don't. Write "hunting" and see if the police give a shit, and even if they do, you go to the police in the town next over (or appeal it, if you care to trade words with some desk jockey over the course of a few months). 50 calibre and above is fine, the exception being .50 BMG. The reasoning behind this is that they fear some bright guy in the military is going to nick some radioactive/incendiary/armour-annihilating/all of these rounds from there and wage war against cars and more armoured targets.
I gather you can get around this by buying something in .510 DTC EUROP or Russian fifty - at that price level, you can probably afford the comparatively rarer ammo, and it's not like you won't be reloading anyway.
.338LM is somewhat popular with long range shooters here (woah, whoda thought), and I was actually toying with the thought of getting a Savage 110BA Stealth in that calibre when a store ran a campaign on it, but the scope I'd need, plus reloading supplies and the ammo I'd need to get started and the price of a new, taller gun locker would've left my bank account in a bad way. It wasn't easy to pass on, though.

Given your proximity to the Russkis, how easy is it to get ak's n shit

To be entirely honest, I don't know what the current situation is. All I've seen recently have been Molot sporting rifles. I might need to have a word with the importer to find out what it's like.
