Since the base airshit itself already has a functional magwell/release (airshit pmags are very close to real ones), should I look at ditching the sig lower in favor of heavily modifying an 80% polymer one? Or is the sig MCX upper too far out of spec to work with any other kind of lower at all?

About 45min ago I realized the thing has no goddamn ejection port. I actually emailed Magpul a few days ago, and they told me that they never actually had a working prototype. I'm not surprised. They never managed to produce a production gun. This was always fake, the Masada got sold to bushmaster, and fuck knows what happened with the fmg9. I'm gonna try to build a clone of that at some point if I can get my hands on the airshit chassis.

I see an ejection port. Looks like they would shoot forward out that slot just below the pic rail. You can see the ramp that would guide the casings.

No current platform that could fit would handle that well. Also, apparently that kind of ejection doesn't work well with 5.56 if you aren't FN. Before making the RDB, kel tec tried making a 5.56 RFB and couldn't get it to eject reliably. As an aside, I just realized that if I were to try to design the internals from the ground up, a telescoping bolt might be the solution to a lot of my problems...

Or y'know just the piston upper part in that shell. But you might run in to issues with it being to small to accommodate a whole action, hence, Hanuman. That would give you kind of a similar setup with a lot fewer issues. If you want and if you have some basic 3d modelling and printing skills you could even modify it to be more to your liking.
