You're going to need to look at the long, wide range that is entrepreneurship anon, find a niche, market it, benefit.

What niche? That's up to you, put scope mounts on dildos for what anyone cares.
>>
Federal agencies.

The point is to stare down the transparent dildo to see your target.

With that logic, go ahead and replace your buttstock with a fleshlight

Private contractor? No, you won't get in at all without prior military or law enforcement experience or have the credentials for a logistics position like communications, which aren't very /k/.

Even then the benefits and pay are abysmal and you won't pick up any applicable skills.

I've got a good alternative though, air force, BUT, their K-9 EOD unit, tote a doggo around to identify and defuse explosives. It's a highly appreciated job that EVERYONE relies on and calls in, even MARSOC/SOCOM will ask for your help.

>>

There are a lot of private companies doing this. Maybe make a "economy team" for cheaper clients.

Half right and half wrong really.
He's right that it takes time to get to that level in Policing, but it's entirely possible if you're an intelligent and proactive person.
But he is wrong about the proportional living cost remark though - If anything, the more expensive cities will pay far higher than 80k a year at the highest grades.
>>

In most places, yes. $40k in a "relevant"/well-known area, especially near or in a city, is chump change (CA, NY, MA etc.)
$60k is pretty much the cost of survival where I live (495 belt of MA)
>>
Protip: You're not middle class if you make less than $60k/year (after taxes).
>>
>>33828994
Depends heavily where your live and if you have children. Assuming no kids, here are my takes on "decent" household (can also include a spouse) income if you don't want a shitty quality of life.

Expensive liberal mega-city (NY, SF, Seattle etc):
>nicest areas inside city: $200k+
>nicest suburbs: $130k
>decent but long commute: $90k

Less-expensive metro areas (Phoenix, SLC, Houston etc)
>nicest areas inside city: $150k+
>nicest suburbs: $100k
>decent but long commute: $60k

Average large towns:
>nicest areas, excluding large land plots: $100k
>normal neighborhoods: $60k
>methsville: 35k
>>
>>33829080
Exactly my point. the cost of living is high there. Earning $80k on the west coast is like earning $50k in the southeast.
Look at the salaries for the Atlanta or Houston PD vs any other major city. It's about 1/3 less. Bc the cost of living is so high on the coasts and parts of the midwest and so low in the south.

average payout on bank robberies is remarkably low
https://arstechnica.com/science/2012/06/economists-demonstrate-exactly-why-bank-robbery-is-a-bad-idea/

>The basic problem is the average haul from a bank job: for the three-year period, it was only £20,330.50 (~$31,613). And it gets worse, as the average robbery involved 1.6 thieves. So the authors conclude, "The return on an average bank robbery is, frankly, rubbish. It is not unimaginable wealth. It is a very modest £12,706.60 per person per raid."
>"Given that the average UK wage for those in full-time employment is around £26,000, it will give him a modest life-style for no more than 6 months," the authors note. If a robber keeps hitting banks at a rate sufficient to maintain that modest lifestyle, by a year and a half into their career, odds are better than not they'll have been caught. "As a profitable occupation, bank robbery leaves a lot to be desired."
>>
>>33828472
Yeah no.

Wanna know what a Missouri State Trooper makes just starting out of BLET? $43k/yr. Wanna know what the standard yearly raise rate is? 7%. They also promote frequently, meaning if you aren't a shitbag you make sergeant in 4 years (which is a humongous pay raise, like 20-21%) and corporal within 1.5 years (which is a modest pay raise in the 10-11% range).

This means that if you aren't a total shitbag by year 4 you're making ~$69,500 a year (7% raise end of first year, promoted to corporal halfway through second year @ 10% raise, 7% raise at end of second year, 7% raise at end of third year, promoted to sergeant at start of 4th year @ 20% raise, 7% raise at end of 4th year).

Pay for actual street cops tops out at $171,000 a year, assuming Captain at 20 years (no forced retirement but it is available with 50% pension at 20). Ranks above Captain are admin only.

Banks barely have any cash in their vault since the 90s, criminal switched to robbing Bank trucks or ATMs.
>>
>>33828994
As others have said it depends heavily on where you live.

Around me (rural Missouri), $40k a year will get you a 2000+ square foot house, 2 new mid-range vehicles (chevy/ford/toyota SUV, any full-size truck, the smaller luxury cars from Acura, BMW, etc), a nice bass boat, the ability to pay a yard service to mow twice weekly and fertilize/overseed/dethatch/aerate your lawn monthly, and still have enough money left to buy a $1000 gun and shoot constantly, eat out twice a week at sit-down restaurants, have full medical insurance, and take multiple vacations out of state every year.

Now somewhere like Los Angeles $40k a year won't get you a 200 square foot efficiency apartment in the ghetto, you won't have health insurance or a car at all, and you'll have to shop at bargain grocery stores to eat.
>>
>>33829098
This is wrong. You can do pretty good in Arizona, Phoenix or otherwise, for 32k without kids.
>>

Rob retail stores.

I work for a big-box retail store. Our STARTING till is $1000 and it's not uncommon to have $10,000 cash per drawer across 6 registers by noon (when they're emptied and reset to starting till), and right before close on Fridays and Saturdays the CSS till (always always register 1, which is numbered and lit) will have over $100,000 in it. Across the 6 tills at close there's usually $200,000 on Friday and Saturday.

There's no security other than cameras, and employees are prohibited by company policy from 1. carrying weaponry to include guns/knives (even pocket knives)/pepper spray/tazers/contact stun guns, and 2. physically touching any non-employee in the store under ANY circumstances and SPECIFICALLY during a robbery/shoplifting. The tills are within 10 feet of the front door and due to ADA compliance laws it has to be a straight shot with no obstacles between any of the registers and the door.

Moreover, 99% of all cashiers in retail environments are college-age or elderly females.
>>
I'm a computer programmer trying to get into med school.

Nearly every doctor, nurse (even and especially the cute female ones), and paramedic I've talked to is armed with something. They just keep it in the closet.

If i learned one thing from working a retail job at a place with a pharmacy, it's that pharmacy trucks are what you want to rob. Fuckers have no guards and are just run of the mill white box trucks.

>stake out nearest opiate producing facility
>knock over delivery truck on rural route
>each pill is worth 3-7 bucks depending on potency
>make off with at least tens of thousands of pills
>sell it to mid level drug distributor for wholesale.
>if he's smart he'll break it down and repress it so the pigs don't catch on

lower pay out than robbing a delivery of precious metals or diamonds but with none of the downsides and you can actually probably get away with it
>>
>>33830544
Bollocks. I live in Phoenix. You can't get a decent house outside the barrio for less than 220k.

Good luck paying $1200/month with your $1100 paychecks. And that's being generous and assuming you can somehow save up to put a 20% deposit down and avoid PMI. More realistically you'd be looking at only 5% down with PMI for over $2000/month.
