that kinda defeats the purpose of monoliths existence being creepy and mysterious but in one version it states you have to find a monolithic rock and pray to it every 6 ours on novice, 4 on stalker, 2 on expert, and 1 on master.

Yeah. I've done it enough times to complete all the factions listed in OP.

Unless you're doing it in an urban environment (which I did for the loner version) it's incredibly boring and underwhelming.

When I was doing my military service as part of the Turkish Armed Forces in Cyprus, two of the guys from my platoon used part of their extended leave to explore and camp in abandoned Varosha which is sealed off to non-TAF personnel.

Apparently it was cool but got really boring especially after they ran out of booze so they called it off after the 2nd night. Also, they weren't allowed to shoot there since the DMZ zone and all, would definitely had stirred shit up.
