Well I'm going to assume you're talking about the run of the mill zombie i.e. The slow moving ones that are dumb as shit.

My weapons would be a mace, a crossbow and a suite of knight armor (probably get From a museum) reasons for my choice?

1. A mace because I can use it as many times as I want to bash zombie skulls open and it doesn't require me to sharpen it

2. Crossbow because it's silent, easy to use and has reusable ammo

3. Knight armor because zombies aren't gonna bite through plate+gambison combo, the suite doesn't way much (45-55 pounds distrubted through your whole body) gives me maximum protection agaisnt the undead , it hardly hinders move speed and agility and I can even sleep in it (might be uncomfortable though)

About 200 treadmills hooked up to a generator and the dismembered body parts of my neighbor Gary to power my house for all eternity. Maybe a few hundred gallons of formaldehyde if I find a nice loli zombie to sterilize/ turn into my eternally young living fleshtoy/waifu.

It's basically a .22 sound wise with a reload as long as a percussion musket that also takes physical energy to do. The bolts on all crossbows intended for adults will go straight through a Z's head, anyway. It's honestly worthless, I own one.
It's also not easy to use either and requires specific stances for medium range accuracy.

When will this meme die? Yes they're not silent, but they're nowhere near the db level of a gunshot. A .22 lr from a rifle is around 130-140 decibels, a modern crossbow is around 80. Plus no sonic boom. Stand downrange from a crossbow and it sounds way different, and it's hard to pinpoint where it comes from.

Anything over 300fps (even the cheapest of cheapshit "modern" compound crossbows and the majority of semi-modern recurve crossbows) is going to be 95+dB. Which is about as loud as subsonic .22lr through a 20" barrel unsuppressed. The current "hunting" crossbows that are 350+fps can get as loud as a high velocity .22lr from a pistol, and the fastest ones (420+fps) are hitting 9mm levels of sound (145dB). Also the noise from the bolt impacting is loud as shit.

Crossbow bolts aren't even remotely reusable against actual flesh or in actual field environments. A modern one will go right the fuck through a zombie/human/deer/elk/moose/small bear at any distance you can reliably hit it and you'll never find it, and they fucking shatter if you hit a tree or wall. Even into commercial archery targets you get maybe 10-15 shots out of them before you strip the fletching or bend the point insert.

Fun fact-I read The Turner Diaries once to see what it's all about. The day of the rope chapter gave me the same feeling I experienced reading Crossed. I finished The Turner Diaries. I noped the fuck out of Crossed when I was the kids in The Fatal Englishman arc, came back for the Quisling arc, and then noped the fuck out permanently with the next one because I knew how it'd end for the Mexican woman.
