well I'm not a knife person either, but from what I understand the karambit is basically filipino fedoracore and that other one doesn't even have a hanguard.

It's a favorite for fedora neckbeards, I hear it's actually functional enough when used by someone who knows what they're doing.

Looks nice right, and has a great history, and a very good warranty? Just don't pay attention to the flaws, how so many knife enthusiast completely dismiss the flaws because it's pocket jewelry to them anyways, and how it's at lest $200 over priced.

>>33824392
Who mentioned the compression lock? It has nothing to do with the topic on hand.

The Sebenza may have a supper smooth lock, great for sensitive accountant hands, still does not change the fact it will fail under comically little force. If your $410 knaifu lock fails and edge rolls as easily as you would expect a $10 chink knife to, you you should start questioning the price tag.

I'm not the guy you were talking with, but:

It's not the frame lock in general, it is the frame lock on the Sebenza in particular that is a weak design, ironic since Chris Revee invented it.

You hear everyone constantly talk about how smooth it is? Well a directly result of that is weak lock up, it takes less for to disengage, it takes less force to make it fail.

I honestly think lock strength is kind of a meme. I've only ever been in a situation where a lock prevented me from getting cut, and if you are putting enough force on a knife to make it fail in that direction, you are doing something dumb... If I ever buy a Sebenza, I'm going to use it as a dress knife, it's not going to work with me like my Cold Steels, Spydercos, ZTs, ect... do.

But the point of the matter is, a $410 Titanium Frame lock, from the inventor of the Titanium Frame lock, is weaker than a $70 Kershaw Leek frame lock.

Yes I'm using Cold Steel testing as a source... But I'm doing so because the method they use seems objective, and I do not see a reason for them to falsify their results to such a large extent, they do not have anything to gain among the knife community by doing so.

I have not seen that one. Looks like an updated version of the mini-clip. Where's it made(Taiwan/China/?)?

I have a couple old AirSOGs and Magnadots, , Pentagon Elite, and two Mini Spec Elite.

All of these are Seki Japan made. After that, their stuff seemed to become junk.

>>33825957
made in china. I've never heard of seki blade steel, but this thing is a bank vault for $20. been using it for 4 months and no blade play whatsoever. The lockback seems pretty stiff it's got about 2mm of catch that the lock holds the blade. it's generic 8cr13mov, which is fine but for a rock bottom price at walmart or cabelas or wherever you can find it, it's money well spent on a utility tool.

someone who knows what he's doing with a karambit is harder to disarm. Since the fighting style around this knife isn't as mainstream as normal knives and also entails the wielder be flashy with his movements and knife manipulations, it can be pretty hard to read a skilled opponent with this knife

M-tech makes some goddamn silly knives. I bought one of their 'Solid Gold' lock blades because of how silly it was, and that it was only $7.50 with free shipping.
Here, have a TACTICAL EMERGENCY RESCUE knife.

You. As a person. Cannot ever come close to what they did to those blades in the factory heat treatment. You will crack the blade and then cry about it. Stop doing things, because you can only make them worse, not better.
