This is the most accurate gun(pistol) in the world.
So accurate it's used in Olympics and it's the most ergonomic weapon on the face of the earth.
>>
>>33817364
not nearly as accurate as a glock
>>
>>33817364

>>
>>33817364
Is the rear sight higher than the front sight?
>>
>>33817364
Cool.

Shame you probably cant even kill a squirel with it.
>>
protip never hand someone this without extensive safety training

they have like .5oz triggers. If you look at them funny they go off
>>
>>33817364
I never understood Olympic shooting. It's like, what's the point of it being extremely accurate if there's zero practical application to it?
>>
>>33817389
yes because it's 22lr at olympic distances.
>>
>>33817364
Doubt it. I'm sure lasers are more accurate and precise.
>>
>>33817364
I'd be impressed if they could do it with a Springfield and a model 10
>>
>>33817364
>This is the most accurate gun(pistol) in the world.

The M-16 is the most accurate gun the world and has speial exploding bullets.

The GLOCK is also a good gun as it is meade of space material and its 9 inch bullet is designed to kill for the special police and agents who fight terror. The GLOCK is not as long as the M16 so the bullet is not as near the speed of sound and does not explodes when it his people like the m16 but it is the next best bullet and the gun fits in pants
>>
>>33817406
Hey, if a gaylord Max Brooks apocalypse ever happens, the ability to hit head sized targets with a .22 quickly will be in high demand.

That or if you're a contract killer with a suppressed .22
>>
>>33817406
Gold medal level you retard
>>
>>33817406
You could say the same about literally anything in the olympics.
>>
>>33817364
But how does it work? I think I see a hammer back there, but I don't see any discernable mechanism.
>>
>>33817433
the 22lt bullets o also bounce in people like m16 bullets but they do not TUMbLE as they were not made by A Stoner

also OP that gun is MADE OF WOOD

proper military accurat gund LIKE FLOCKS AND M16S ARE NOT MADE OF WOOD but special military material like US marines have
>>

I would be much more impressed if they used real world guns, especially if they had to be stock. A 5.56 competition would be awesome. I feel the same way about archery; they should be limited to recurve bows rather than modern compounds.

>>33817517
Yeah, most of those are pretty useless, but at least in some of them you have to be physically fit and dexterous to compete in them. They also don't abuse technology to make them easier.
>>
>>33817583
>at least in some of them you have to be physically fit and dexterous to compete in them. They also don't abuse technology to make them easier.

It's hardly an abuse of technology to have a purpose-built target shooting pistol.

You wouldn't take a car off the showroom floor and compete in a NASCAR race (Even if that was the origin of the sport).

Technological advances have radically changed most sports in terms of both safety and performance.

Look at golf. It's an ancient game so radically different from today's golf that it couldn't even be played on the same course. Scotsmen hundreds of years ago probably couldn't dream of hitting 300+ yard drives.

Pure martial arts are probably the only sports that haven't been affected.

If we're going to carry this anti-technology autism over to guns, then why aren't we still using smoothbore black powder setups and making the athletes cast their own lead and measure their own powder charges?
>>
>>33819731
Maybe they should use smoothbores and cast their own lead. It'd be more entertaining desu.

They should have just made new tiers. Instead of switching the equipment, they could have had a 'traditional archery' and a 'modern archery'. Maybe that doesn't apply to every sport like sprints and you just have to accept footwear technology, but for other things it certainly could.
>>
>>33817364
So's your mom, nerd.
>>
>>33819751
I can agree with you there. But the reality is that the Olympics would love to get rid of weapons-related events, not diversify them.
>>
>>33819540
you're a tube magazine
>>
>>33819731
>pure martial arts haven't been affects
HA! ever ehard of MMA?

also, every athlete today is enhanced by science
they eat scientific diets, track every conceivable measure of performance, use complex pre-workout and post-workout mixes

even something as simple as running has changed drastically
it used to be that nobody could run a four minute mile, it was inconceivable
now it's expected among any decently high level runner

idiots bitching that Olympic target guns are impractical for anything else are retards who don't understand the competition
the competition is about boiling the art of shooting down to it's barest simplest form and removing as many variables as possible other than the shooter
that means only the best ammo, the highest quality barrels, ultra-light triggers, and faggy impractical guns
hit the bullseye or lose, and no chance of blaming a wild shot on your ammo or gun

>>33819751

idiotic
these sports, even discounting the IOC's faggotry about them, are not nearly popular enough to support that kind of diversification
>>
>>33817364

Olympic shooting is boring as fuck to watch.

>Squinting manlet with noodle arms hyperextending his arms to nearly inhuman angle
>Holding what may as well be an airgun
>Aiming with Halo 1 cyborg goggles

Fuck that shit. I won't pretend I'm some 3 gun or CAS champ, but it would be infinitely more entertaining to see shooting where the competitors actually look like they're sweating or even moving.
>>
>>33819751
they do have different categories for archery, you mong. do you think a cunt with an big game hunting compound shows up out of nowhere in the middle of the recurve shooters and pushes their shit in with 400fps arrows?

There's actually nothing in there. It's a very simple falling block. The engineering feat is how few moving parts there are in the thing.
>>
>>33819828
thats cuz you dont know the precision that shit takes

go try it out sometime and you can appreciate the skill required much better. Yeah its a bit sterile and not as exciting as the biathalon shooting, but fuck you if you dont appreciate the skill required of olympic athletes, regardless of the content.

>>33819751
that'd be fun as fuck, but shits just not popular enough anymore. The olympic rifle competitions used to require you to use the official primary firearm of your host nation, which is really neat. Youd get actual military marksmen. But thats just not how the sport developed once >>33819820 shit started happening.

>>33819980

It's not impressive in the least to watch. There is no entertainment value. Again, nobody is claiming they could do it better, but I'd rather watch actual athletes compete in a three gun competition than watch some slit in a burka take sterile, controlled shots in a stress-free environment that looks like the showroom of an Acura dealership. This is a skill that you have to practice exclusively for "Olympic Style" shooting. Nobody in the competitive shooting world gives two shits or a fuck that you can twist your arm like an alien garbage scoop and put minuscule holes in paper at tennis court length. Even LDS would make for a better competitive event. It might even help make it one of the top 10 most watched events. Nobody gives a shit about Olympic pistol shooting.

>Pic related
>>
>>33819828
Shooting isn't really fun to watch, but I find Olympic shooting fascinating.
>>
>>33817517
wait are you on the only Olympic sport where is it is written into the bylaws that you can drink during the event? i mean really how can you hate on curling which is the best drunk game there is
>>
>>33817583
But the more accurate the guns themselves are, the more the shooting itself is purely based off skill and not random chance with inaccuracies in the gun.
>>
>>33819731

I thought the Olympics were supposed to be about representing your nation. How are you representing your nation in a shooting competition when you aren't using the rifle of your nation for it?
>>

This could potentially have the side effect of making shit-poor nations rearm with top-deck rifles, just to try and eke out some Olympic gold.

Accuracy isn't everything, especially for pistols.

Take a look at the sights - they're set up to be shot only at distances used in the Olympics.

Even then, you can notice that the sights are also mounted on barrel and the receiver that are lined up perfectly with each other. Slide-mounted sights are inferior to these BUT - how many pistols, outside of revolvers, have sights mounted like that? Most of them are slide-mounted. The reason is that for practical purposes the difference in accuracy is minimal and that construction allows for simpler locking mechanisms.

Sport shooting is really heavily biased towards heavily specialised solutions. It's fine by itself, but trying to use experiences from sport shooting into consideration when designing firearms meant to be used practically isn't the best idea - if you want to know why take a look at BAR sights. Or later production M1 Carbine sights vs. early production ones.

The entire grip is made by making casts or scans of you hand, and then hand-carving it untill it perfectly fits you. Then you go and test it, and it feels like you're given yourself a perfect handshake and then the gunsmith comes up and goes 'Nope, still not good enough'. After about three revisions, they're done.

Competition airguns are custom made in the same way.
