When I was a Noguns firearms wouldn't shoot on my dreams, ever. I had to pull the trigger and make the "pew, pew" noise in the dream. Common dream, especially in law enforcement. During my second year in LE, had a similar dream and I worked up drenched with sweat and screaming. Talked to a senior officer about it and he told me it's very common and he hasaid had them too. Looked online and saw it was common and i wasn't [completely]
nuts. Occasionally still get the 100lb trigger/no effective hit dreams. Probably means you're stressed about something. Go out and shoot, always seems to help me.

I'm having increasingly realistic shooting dreams. No zombies, no crazy extended shootouts, my gun doesn't turn into a wet noodle mid dream or anything.

Last night I was fighting to retain my gun and gutshot a guy a bunch of times, and that was it. It was really graphic and brutal. No context or anything.

What do these mean? Should I be worried? They're not over the top or anything, but the fact that they seem so realistic is kind of disturbing.

I believe it may be related to or similar to Sleep Paralysis. The best way to fix having these nightmares is by getting a good form for drawing and firing on target, and having it practiced down until it's second nature. It's really all about having the mental confidence of "I can take wherever you throw at me, world!" and then your subconscious won't be second-guessing itself in your dreams.

I used to analyze dreams on /b/ years ago, even did it for a profit for a while too, not that that means anything, just throwing it out there.

Dreams where you can't pull the trigger or bullets don't kill or huge guns cause little damage is caused from subconcious performance anxiety and lack of confidence.
You're afraid that deep down you'll be unable to perform to a standard you've set for yourself internally and are afraid of disappointing others and yourself. These dreams are most common weeks or months ahead of a certain deadline you know of, that you may or may not have placed on a pedestal of sorts and subconsciously are worried about even though your conscious self may not seem worried.

The feel is real. My dreams are full of light primer strikes, jams, bullets doing nothing, transitioning to knife, multiple stab wounds failing to stop. Basically just spending all night exhausting every possible method to kill one motherfucker.

I think it's a self empowerment thing, if you feel like you are in control of things in general, even if your dream gun shoots like shit you could still find a way to fight or flight without panicking.

When guns don't work in my dreams I just feel disappointed, maybe grab some other stuff and start whacking shit, but I go FUCKFUCKFUCK when I am driving and the brake doesn't fucking work.

So since coming back to the states several years ago, I have been having nightmares, which are a little disturbing but nothing terrible really. However I grind my teeth really aggressively, so hard that I chipped pieces of my teeth off. The VA got me a nice custom made mouthguard after a few years, and it works well. I seldomly had nightmares and didn't grind my teeth at all before going to war, but now I cant stop. I really hope I don't grind my teeth for the rest of life, and the nightmares decrease.

Woke up from one of the most vivid dreams i've ever had a few days ago, where I was in an apartment i lived in 6 or 7 years ago, cept my best freind (from like 2nd grade-today) was there and we were essentially shooting at eachother with real guns as though it was a nerf fight

I had this dream that was so realistic it stayed with me for ages.
So I'm with this modem British infantry group and we are storming shallow trenches, the enemy looked like Vietnam era usmc. But in the dream my sa80 was working flawlessly and I probably killed around 5, then as we moved Into this wooded bit we where getting shot at, and as the cracks of the rounds got louder I felt this wack in my chest and I woke up with a huge jump.
I swear if I didn't know any better I would of said it was real.

Anyone have the dream where they're shooting at an intruder and the ballistics are way off? I've had it a couple times, and i could literally see the bullet dropping, so much so that my bullet drops 4 or 5 feet on a ten yard shot.
