What kind of carry ammo are poorfags supposed to use?
>inb4 poorfags shouldn't be conceal carrying
What cal?
>>33785319
Just buy the cheap stuff most of us consider plinking ammo. At the end of the day it's still a bullet that will wreck someone's shit up.
Buy a Mak and as much 9x18 as you can.
Remington or Winchester JHP?
Basically anything that isn't FMJ or comes in 25-round boxes covered in Eagles shitting 3D American flags and an excessive use of the word EXTREME!
>>33785324
Nothing specific, just asking a general question.
Like should someone default to FMJ if that's all they can afford to shoot regularly.
>>33785319
22 mag and lr
380.
9mm
All three are easy on the wallet
If you're only using it as carry ammo you could afford to spend the extra few bucks on a box of JHP.
>>33785402
I never considered .380 that cheap by comparison...
Carry ammo isn't expensive what are you talking about?
There is literally no excuse as to why you cannot afford a $25 50rd box of HST or Gold Dots
>>33785319
target practice rounds :)
>>33785319
HST.
$.50 per round, so only 1.5-2x the cost of plinking ammo(depending on caliber). also one of if not the best JHP currently available. If you can't afford that the just buy whatever ball ammo runs alright.
>>33785397
absolutely not. very few people actually practice with their carry ammo regularly.
>>33785319
>>33785319
OP just stop being a faggot and get one (1) box of premium carry ammo. You're never going to have to use it anyway.
Ultra poorfag mode: only load the first 5 rounds with JHP, load the rest with FMJ.
The only bad thing about expensive carry ammo is shooting some to make sure it functions, which effectively doubles the cost.
If you're gonna be serious about carrying, you need to seriously get your money saved up and get some good ammo. Save the freedom reloads for plinking and practicing.
>>33785482
Way to recommend the double priced HSTs that don't perform any better than the normal ones...
>>33785503
>>33785402
9x19 is cheaper than .380
9x18 is also cheaper than .380
>>33785319
>Carry ammo
>A significant expense
Like how many muggings a week do you have to deal with? Just buy one box of good fucking ammo (like $20 wow) and you're good. Maybe change it out every few months if you're paranoid about that sort of thing.
>falling for the carry ammo meme
Expansion is nice, but accuracy and penetration will always be King and Queen as long as we're incapacitating by means of metal projectiles.
Do you shoot it accurately? Consistently? Does it put a deep hole in flesh? If you're carrying an auto-loader, does it cycle the action every time? Congratulations, you're good to go.
What this means practically is: a reputable manufacturer whose powder loads and primers are consistent through a box and a caliber with enough ass to bury the bullet in the heart, lungs, or brain. Once you're past those benchmarks, everything else is dick measuring.
And, before it comes up, "overpenetration" is fudd handwringing. Anything worth shooting someone with is going through drywall and cheap siding.
Poor people shouldn't be owning guns. Just call the police if something happens.
I use FMJs but I drill a hole in the end of the bullet and cut a cross on it with my dremel. It opens up just like a hollow point ammo does. I tried it on some phone books to see.
>>33785697
Fuck you. Poor people could probably out hunt and fish you anyday. Tell me, why do you carry a gun?
>>33785745
Because niggers.
>>33785745
>Tell me, why do you carry a gun?
Because I can a good one with proper defensive ammo.
Carrying a firearms is a serious responsibility, but also an expensive one.
However, it's not mandatory like say owning a car is.
>>33785761
Fair enough, being afraid of niggers is as good a reason as any.
>>33785805
It's nice to have rights isn't it?
>>33785536
Way to go showing everyone you have no idea what you are talking about.
>>33785319
They shouldn't, honestly guns should only be for the ones(aka the good guys) that can manage and own them, there should be a minimum yearly wage checkup to see if they are qualified for gun ownership.
It'll just become a cheaper alternative for crime for them if they get to play with our toys.
Just use Winchester white box HP.
>>33785818
Your rights mean jack if you get a bystander injured or killed because all you could afford to carry was ball and it overpenetrated.
Carrying a gun without proper ammo is blatantly irresponsible.
People who can't afford a gun in 9x19 or bigger and proper ammo shouldn't be carrying.
Sub-9mm Luger cartridges are not trustworthy for carry.
>>33785882
Kiss my ass. I'm not planning on being a hero and saving the world with my little handgun. Also, who are you to tell anyone what is right for them to carry? A 22short round nose will kill you just as dead as a 10mm HP.
>>33785961
speaking of which, does anyone actually utilize the 10mm or is it just a another .40 S&W
>>33786084
Not for carry. 10mm is more for innawoods hunting.
If anyone does carry 10mm, they probably work for UNATCO.
>>33785657
Oh hey, it's the "just carry FMJ because i love poking sub caliber holes in things and haven't ever heard of FMJs tendency for deflecting off bone" guy.
>>33785733
underrated bait
>>33785819
Really? all the testing i've seen even from short barreled guns(~3" barrels) showed 147gr, 147gr +p, and 150 gr penetrating and expanding very similarly.
>>33786084
10mm is not loaded to full power in most factory loads apparently. I like 45ACP myself.
>>33786186
usually i carry .45 or 9mm myself. that being said there are a few manufacturers out there who produce hot 10mm loadings.
>>33785319
Unless you live in Detroit or something, you be getting into that many confrontations; enough to dump a mag or two is enough, so buy the good shit
>>33785319
Obviously few anons can afford an entire 20-round box of hollowpoints, but with careful planning and budget restrictions you can come up with the downpayment on a single round of premium ammo. Simply load your mag with rusty steel-cased surplus and put the premium cartridge in last. Congratulations, you now look like you have a full magazine of the rich stuff! Now you know why characters in movies rack their slides multiple times, they are ejecting their expensive rounds before they fire their weapon.
>>33785319
If I was poor and needed to use the cheapest carry ammo then you can say that my life was not rich enough to live in the first place.
>>33785882
>Sub-9mm Luger cartridges are not trustworthy for carry.
There's literally nothing wrong with good quality defensive .380 as an office gun or backup.
>>33786946
>implying there is any good quality defensive .380
With .380, you get penetration or expansion; never both.
>>33785697
>poor people
>the people most likely to need one
>shouldn't have one
Hi, Feinstein, how's it hanging?
>>33787139
Poor people don't need guns because they have nothing of value that minorities would want.
>>33787173
Poor people are literally the most affected class when it comes to crime. They live in less genteel areas, around shittier people and anytime they try to improve themselves, it is likely to be hindered or at least an attempt made.
>>33787173
You clearly do not understand how cheap heroin is.
>>33787173
Top KEK. Too bad the minorities never quite figure that part out or are thinking that far ahead... otherwise they'd be working 9-5 while taking night classes instead of mugging people. not to mention most business owners and many workers in minority areas aren't minorities themselves
I use some Winchester Whitebox JHP I ordered online for about $25 for 50 of them. I use em in my $20 .38spl Undercover. For home use, I have some 9mm Federal JHP I bought at Wally World for $20 for 20 and I keep em in their own magazine for my Ruger P89.
It only costs me like... an extra $40 for 70 rounds of ammo that I pray that I won't have to use. But then again, better to have and not need than need and not have.
>>33785363
What is even out there and good for 9x18 anyway?
Silver Bear JHPs seem nice in that they're affordable, and you get 50.
Hornady only sells boxes of 25 though.
>>33785319
>What kind of carry ammo are poorfags supposed to use?
how fucking destitute are you that you cant afford one 20 round box of good defensive ammo? I average 5-600 a paycheck and even after all my bills are paid I'm left with SOME spending money.
even a poorfag should be able to afford a box of HST. It's $20 for a box and you're only going to use it to blast some fool. Any other time you're using $10/box round nose
>>33788036
was just about to post this.
20$ for a box of 50. that's at least 2 mags, maybe 3, depending on the gun. if whatever you're trying to kill doesn't die with 50 rounds of 9mm your either fighting a very pissed off grizzly bear or you're fucking hopeless at aiming.
>yfw Robbie Leatham of all people carries fucking .45 ball ammo in his gun
>>33788129
He sounds dangerous, would not want him carrying near me
>>33788129
Thing is, he's an extremely accomplished competition shooter, one of the best. But down right fucking retarded in his ammo selection. People look up to him so they might emulate what he does or thinks. He literally does not believe in hollow point ammunition.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vAmJ8k_9Owg
If you need to shoot people through heavy clothing hollow points are not always the best bet and FMJs are a better option. I routinely carry FMJs in the winter, JHPs in the summer.
A fucking Carhartt jacket stopped 4 124-grain +P Speer Gold Dots recently when the NYPD had to shoot somebody.
>>33788179
The guy sounds like a fudd and incredibly irresponsible
>>33785319
.45 ACP ball.
>>33785348
people seem to forget this.
>>33788331
https://bearingarms.com/bob-o/2016/06/03/claims-carhartt-jacket-stopped-nypd-bullets-false/
If you can't afford ammo you really shouldn't be carrying
>>33788848
This.
>inb4 ball ammo is cheap
Not real ammo. You don't carry ball.
>>33785555
>really fucking what this on a shirt
>redbubble markup
