5.56x45 doesn't have enough stopping power.
>but the military uses it
Only because it is issued to them by a bunch of POG procurement officers. If anything else were issued to them, they'd use that instead.
5.56 would stop your stupid ass, I guarantee it.

Let me shoot you with it and see if it stops you, you fucking idiot.
Yes, it will get through your 20 inches of fat.

22 LR would also kill me. Does that mean 22 LR is a viable rifle round?
>>33750795
Too be fair, the 5.56 was made to wound the enemy and make the target hit a big burden for the enemy. Also more ammo means more suppression.
That being said, I really miss big dick ammo

lol this thread was just deleted before I could reply.
Why do you even care to waste your time making these?
No one is going to stop using 5.56, and no one cares how lelele ebig trolll you just pulled off
>inb4 haha k is the easiest board to trigger guys, gottem

While intermediate cartridges were a mistake 5.56 still doubtlessly brings people down.
>>33750845
Even if those are valid reasons, they are not relevant to civilian usage.
>>33750853
Not an argument.
>>33750858
So does 22 LR.
>>33750845
>designed to wound
this one is my favorite meme
>>33750900
That's the justification, sure it may not be as lethal, but it still wounds the enemy enough to be a significant burden.
>>33750895
They are very valid for civilians, especially for disarming without killing.
You're right, we should exclusively use .50 BMG for everything
>>33750940
Im sufe you have a source for that then? Because the way 5.56 tumbles sure doesnt look like "designed to wound" to me.
>>33750957
It's more of a justification. People will say its less lethal, but lethality isnt always necessery. So Militaries can justify switching to 5.56. Obviously the main purpose is more ammo and less weight.
