Your "gunsmith" is a retard and probably one of the modern "gunsmiths" who can't do anything beyond cleaning shit and mounting optics. CZ 527s can handle steel-cased ammo just fine. The 7.62x39mm Carbine models are even made for steel specifically.

"Steel ammo wears out your gun" is fuddlore, just like leaving your mags loaded wears out the springs and other tall tales

Why would it? Lucky Gunner did some extensive testing and after firing thousands of rounds rapidly in an AR found it slightly accelerated throat wear and extractor wear. Since a 527 is operated manually and won't (can't) be fired nearly as quickly as they did those ARs, you won't have anywhere near the same results, which weren't bad to begin with.
