What was your first gun. I shot my .22 marlin when I was 12. Still my favorite gun.

Mossman .410 magazine bolt shotgun when I was 8 or so.

Baikal made single shot 410 branded as Remington. Didn't realize until I was older how weird it was for Walmart to carry a Russian made shotgun.
1950 Model 94 I got for Christmas when I was in my early teens, 14 I think?
Marlin 30 30
Marlin 795 got a M91/30 a few months latter.
Saiga .410 my dad got me for my 11th birthday

Convert it faggot.
First gun I shot? 12 gauge at scout camp at 12
First gun I owned? Rg revolver that I got after my grandpa passed at 17
>>33702330
To what? A 12?
>>33702330
To Orthodoxy or?
>>33702480
You seriously don't know that those are only in that configuration for import?
In pic top is unconverted and bottom is converted. They are meant to be converted upon purchase. The post conversion configuration is ergonomically better and has a better trigger.

Honestly my dad bought it when I was 10 so we could go small game hunting. It shames me but I've only used it 3 or 4 times. I can take it apart and put it back together but I never looked much more into it.

Sorry for being a smart ass, I thought you were being sarcastic.

Here's a kit, it's kind of expensive and I only picked it as an example because I thought it was aesthetically pleasing. I don't have a guide but any YouTube demonstration should be enough to guide you.
>>33702987
No I get it. I should probably know more about it. I generally like it and feel bad about it just being a dust collector.
>>33703059
On the bright side you'll probably want to shoot it more if it looks like a normal AK.
My parents are libcucks.
Against their will I bought an AR-7 because it disassembled as was easy to hide.
They found out about it so now I have to keep the receiver/bolt in my mom's closet
I can't wait until I move out and can buy as many guns as I want.

Oh, 12.
First one was a marlin model 60
First one I bought was a sks
Ruger 10/22.
I think it was manufactured during the 2012 panic, because there are some weird issues with the receiver's tolerances... bolt won't come out, neither will the bolt retaining pin for that matter. I've still put thousands of rounds through it and can clean it with a cloth/q-tips/bore snake. Pic-related. I put a thousand or so rounds downrange with this before I got the hang of basic shooting techniques (self-taught), but now I teach people as often as I can and usually use this rifle.
The other gun is my Maverick 88, which taught me to handle recoil at an early point while also being the first "serious" weapon I learned to handle. While I used to teach people recoil compensation (that is, don't do anything to handle it) with the Maverick, these days I use something more reasonable like my 4595TS Hi Point Carbine. The Maverick still stays in my parents' bedroom with 5 shells on the buttstock in case I have to fall back there.
Of course, I now have a Savage Axis in .223, a Yugo SKS 59/66, a Mosin M39, and the aforementioned Hi Point 4595TS. The M39 and the Maverick 88 are my personal favorites.
My first gun was my great-grandfather's Remington model 33. The first gun I bought for myself was a CMP Garand.

That's a nice little rifle there. I wish that my family had a tradition of shooting, but I'm honestly the first one in both sides to have a serious vested interest in the hobby. It's weird because one side is Filipino (fled Marcos during the disarmament period of Martial Law in the PI) and the other is Northeastern Irish/Italian... you'd think either would have instilled the value of self-defense and marksmanship in their respective families, but I suppose not.

sears & roebuck pump action .177 pellet gun from like 1955 was first gun i OWNED. first gun i shot was some sort of .22lr at summer camp back in 1977

My senator buys into this, and I do as well.
>>33703640
There's only the barest "tradition of shooting" in my family. The overall quality of the gun suggests that it didn't see all that much use.
>>33703704
Fair, but at least you had something passed down. That's always a nice gesture. The work is 99.99% you of course.
>>33703564
That was my first-gun combo (bought in the run-up to the recent election, when I was 43 years old). Both are still great guns.
>>33703809
They're excellent for what they're intended to do. I've since replaced the butt-stock of the Maverick with a Mossberg 500 wooden stock, and added a slip-on recoil pad. It tends to be easier to get a decent cheek-weld and the recoil is definitely softer. Might add the plastic stock back on for nostalgia's sake some time, but...
single shot .410 my great grandfather gave me.
Mosin Nagant 91/30
