Could I have outdrawn him? Absolutely. He was all over the place and lazily put the glock on target.

The issue is when am I allowed to draw? Because of horseshit brandishing laws if I draw my weapon it must be because I am in direct fear for my life and there is literally no other option. Up until he drew it was an awkward misunderstanding conversation. There were some red flags but nothing that jumped directly out at you. It could have been some driver who was lost and asking directions and being completely brain dead saying the wrong address.

If you draw on someone just because they were acting odd you face criminal charges and having your gun rights taken away. Yet this kind of attack is almost impossible to accurately decipher as deadly until it is too late.

That is the point.

Being able to recognize danger and draw or just taking it all in stride as a regular person who doesn't pull a gun at a random person asking you a question.

His actions and temperament and words we're making my skin crawl but that doesn't mean you can draw until he takes aggressive action. That action being drawing first and you being at his mercy.
