Those are just Type 88/89's with those thicc mags and topfolders to accommodate for those mags. Large chunks of their "special forces" are airborne and paratroopers so a compact package while having what is probably a 50 round mag isn't a bad idea. The magazine doesn't stick out as much vertically, the top folding stock is pretty compact, and over all it's a tight package for a full length rifle
