Good training and selections processes require a high degree of difficulty. Not torture, but it should really push the limits of candidates.

I was never the type of person to just be walking down the street and feel like punching a random person in the fucking face. I felt like that all through academy, and continue to feel that way though my career as well because of how shitty the higher ups treat me. Yet they wonder why some officers go apeshit and beat the fuck out of people who didn't deserve it... At least I'm good at holding it in.

I also feel significantly dumber after going through academy. I can't remember strings of numbers (like someone's phone number) or multiple things at once anymore. I think the excessive amount of running (oxygen deprivation) and sleep deprivation permanently fucked my brain. They probably do this on purpose though.

I got shoved around, had rifles smacked out of my hands and choked in boot camp but there wasn't in punches or kicks like I thought, same in SOI, the instructors were spending most of their time and energy in actually teaching us shit

MOS School is were I started getting my ass kicked, learned my job but not as well as I thought I could've and then when I hit the fleet, everything was under scrutiny 24/7 if you're a boot

From getting laid out to getting tools thrown at me at mach 5 to getting duct taped to a chair for your birthday, the Fleet was a lot harder than anything they could've done and thats the way it should be
