What .22 LR would you use for personal protection?

If you HAD to choose a .22 LR round for self-defense what would you go with? Which brand is best?

CCI Velociter, or failing that Mini-mag.
I'd feel a lot better with 22mag

unjaketed lead so the round shatter their ribs on contact and the lead splinter every makes it impossible to operate. YouTube 22lr for self defense for result on 22 going through pork ribs
A 9-shot revolver or a Beretta 21A loaded with CCI Velocitor or equivalent.

That.

Literally just picked up this gun and a box of stingers, OP. Stingers are the defense round.

just get the kind that shoot, youll be ok kid
Sig 1911 22. 14 rounds to the crotch will kill anything.
If that motherfucker can still kill me before hand he deserves it.

The obvious answer.

There are 60 grain .22LR. I don't know much about them but if you're Chronoing and shooting a pork shoulder or something try them out.
Outside of that, I would look at velocity and keep barrel length in mind
I would want a revolver.
I would want magnum.

I wouldn't use .22lr for protection if I could pick other options, but it's better than nothing.
Something like CCI mini mags would be okay. If you can find the heavier grain stuff it would be good. I'd try to get something with like a 5" barrel and a large magazine because with .22lr I'd just mag dump center mass.
I'd go with a Ruger Mark series (standard barrel cut) for aesthetic reasons alone.

for a first timer I would not suggest only Ruger mark 4 since it is easy to clean

Was actually used once in a car chase. Cop let loose a 40 round burst, incapacitated one perp, and killed the other. PITA to load by all accounts, but is one of the more usable full-auto as don't have to be rich to feed it.
