Model of 1911 or 1911A1? Which is better and which would you rather have?
Having handled both I'd say there's not a grand lot of difference. But the 1911's straight mainspring housing and longer trigger fit my freakishly proportioned hands a little better.

Whats the difference? They look the same to me
1911a1 is better. thats why it got an upgrade model designation.

I'll always fancy the A1 model more, mostly on aesthetics.
Neither of them fit my hand as good as i would like but the nod goes to the A1 for me in that as well.

Well thats was pretty informative and helpful. Thanks

Clearly the mainspring housing is different but I had no clue what else to look for and figured most changes were internal.

Straight MSH

There isn't really much difference but the A1 is slightly better IMO.

I used to like straight mainspring housings, but I have come to realize that the A1 is pure sex. I even like the short trigger.

1911 for sure. Fuck arched mainspring housings and short triggers.

>Not much difference
This guy has never had to shoot with old 1911 sights, the a1 was a vast improvement if only for the sights
