>>
shame it doesn't shoot affordable ammo.
>>
How sign up? Also what are some free cmp approved organizations i can join quick
>>
>>33636443
What for? It's too heavy for hunting, and the ammo is too expensive for plinking. Reissue them or melt them down for scrap.
>>
>>33636477

They can be converted to .308 fairly easily but that would be heresy.
>>
>>33636477
>can't spring for 50cpr
It's not like it's an arisaka or some shit.

>>33636493
They have approved places in your area on their websites, usually local shooting clubs.
>>
>>33636477
A $10 gas plug fixes that.
>>
>>33636517
>the ammo is too expensive for plinking
>look and laugh at the cuck who doesnt know you can buy a part that adjusts the gas system for modern .30-06
>>
>>33636443
I am not eligible, no.
>>
>>33636522
That's pretty expensive if you think about it.
>>
>>33636517
>It's too heavy for hunting

I should get one and hunt with it just to show you how much of a fucking bitch you are.
>>
>>33636537
Compared to other milsurp? .308? Big rifle rounds are expensive. Either reload or stop bitching and suck it up buttercup.
>>
>>33636522
the only good part about milsurp guns was cheap ammo, and that's no longer the case.
>>
>>33636517
>too heavy for hunting
Hunted Krauts and Nips just fine.
>>
>>33636560
Thats an opinion though.
>>
>>33636553

.308 is 30 cents a round, 30-06 is 51, and that's for wolf.

also reloading is only cost effective if you don't value your time, or if you shoot a special snowflake caliber.
>>
>>33636560
>not for the history
You're one of them "queers" aren't you?
>>
>>33636522

>Only options nearby are highschools and other stuff for teenager

what the fucky

I wish I knew about this as a teen
>>
>>33636560
yeah if you're a total pleb who can't appreciate historical firearms that are usually relatively inexpensive anyway. lots of them are perfectly accurate, rugged and reliable, so I don't know what you mean by "affordable ammo is the only reason to get milsurp" because that's pretty much only the case with 7.62x54R and 8mm Mauser like a decade or two ago.
>>
>>33636517
>Too heavy for hunting
Fucking weakling.
>melt them down for scrap
That genuinely made me want to strangle you.
>>
>>33636580

if you want history read a book. people who buy milsurp guns to 'own a gun with a soul' or whatever are massive dweebs.
>>
>>33636582
Join the scouts. Most camps have NRA certified ranges. Teach those little shits something and tell the helicopter moms to fuck off.
>>
>>33636598
Yep, it's settled you're a raging faggot.
>>
>>33636607
Aw. I'm sorry to hear that.
>>
>>33636598
Not nearly as bad as faggots who literally want their gun to transform into a girl and make comics about it
>>
>>33636638

sorry that my opinions hurt your feelings.
>>
>>33636598
No one said they bought it for a soul. Only you said that. Its a piece of history.
>>
>>33636443

No, what's the easiest way to qualify for the CMP?

I heard about a "Garand Owner's Association" is that still a thing?
>>
>>33636578
>only cost effective if you don't value your time
you don't not work 24/7 you have to have down time where you are not sleeping. You are making ZERO money doing nothing so might as well do something production with your down time besides jacking off.
>>
>its heavy
>ammo is not 8 cents a round
>they're old
all of this negativity. looks like I'll be able to get one CHEEEEEEEEEEeeeEEEEEP. I just want one in shootable condition and by the looks of it demand has gone down. $500 m1 when?
>>
>>33636759

yes but time spent reloading should still be factored into the cost
>>
>>33636690
>hurt feelings
No, I'm just telling you that your opinions are shit.
>>
>>33636757
How about you look at the possibilities listed on their website and compare them then find out which one is best suited for you?
>>
>>33636757
>>33636866

How bout you not try to answer a question if you don't have a self apparent answer?
>>
>>33636886
The Garand Collectors Association is still around, took five seconds on Google to find that answer. Become a member there and have a concealed carry permit and you're golden.

>>33636886
>do my work for me
Uh huh. Well, you can join a local shooting club if they're registered with the CMP (That information and more can be had on the CMPs website) Garand owners is still a thing (Again, check the website) There are quite a few possibilities all you have to do is remember what you learned in school and do some research!
>>
I've wanted a Garand forever. It got worse when I shot my friends rifle at some steel at our range. Steel, wood, full power cartridge, recoil, iron sights. It was a pretty fucking cool experience.

>>33636578
Reloading is a hobby unto itself. I don't really much enjoy building 45 or 40 ammo but putting together match grade 308 with such painstaking attention to detail is intriguing to me.
>>
>>33636443
>all these fags complaining it's too expensive to shoot
then just buy and store it away so you can sell it when they inevitably completely run out of stock in a couple years and you too can be a garand scalping jew and get a 200% return
or not, more for me

Listen here candy ass, I'd wager I've been stranded in this fucking cesspool longer than you have and the fact that I could fucking google shit for myself goes without saying.

You're not even telling me to lurk more, you're telling me that I'd be better off going elsewhere because neo /k/ has gone so far up its own ass that it can't answer a simple fucking question without indulging in smug twattery.

so 30cpr + 60mins? financial cost still seems about 30cpr... at least to me. If you want to charge yourself 50 bucks an hour because you're worth it then go ahead.

I'll go ahead and put a value on my free time since i know this goes nowhere with "MUH TIME IS MUNNY" types. Its ZERO. anything productive i do beyond idly waiting is a plus. I save money by reloading during my free time thus making me money. It cost me .30 cents to make this cartridge and not a cent more. I'll do my own oil changes rather than pay some to do it for me while i wait, thank you very much.

yes im flustered.

>/k/ knows what local shooting clubs registered with the CMP you live near
Golly Gee Willikers Batman! You're right, because I'm in your attic nigger. Bring beer.

and everyone
>garand collector's assocation
you can do without even putting down your chicken tendies
>>
>>33637164
It's $40 membership nigger.
>>
>>33637273
a Garand on the secondary market is gonna be way more than +$40.
>>
>>33636522
>>33636578
>30-06 at 50cpr, .308 at 30

Man, fuck the guys complaining about those prices. In Canada .223 is approximately 60 cents a round, while .308 and such are routinely a dollar or more per round. The only calibers we don't get completely shafted on are 7.62x39 and .22lr.
>>
>>33637325
We get shafted on 22lr. I used to shoot bricks of locally sourced Wolf Match Target for $30/500 when I was doing 22 stuff about 10 years ago. Now the cheapest you can get it online is twice that much. Cheapest local is almost 3x that price. Even trash-tier blasting 22lr is $30/500.
>>
>>33636578
>Wolf .30-06
>in a Garand
Are you some kind of faggot?
>>
>>33637319
This. Pay 40 to save 400+!

>Do you need us to show you that in ten blocks?
