If you want to carry it, then you're gonna need a small fixed blade. Don't fall for the karambit meme. I used to carry this blade for a long time and it served me well.

If you actually want to knife fight, you need a fixed blade with a cross gaurd of real quality.

Folders and such will work for basic swipping and threats but if they close the gap and it turns into a rumble, your gonna want to make sure you have perfect grip on that blade m8. A twist a torque and slip into your palm it goes!

Fixed blades are better in every way but ease of carry or concealment
You can practice against someone using a rubber knife I suppose

Yes, a fixed blade is much better than a folding blade. A folding blade can have many weaknesses, like the folding point, it can break if your stabbing hard shit. And plus you don't have to worry with any extra stuff when drawing the knife, just pull it out and you're ready to go. I have a shitty old leather stool that I practice on, drawing and stabbing etc.

I'm sure that it's not good for training but it's fun.

Get pic related. You can apendix carry it in the same place as your pistol and it draws in a similar way. Also it's max legal length in states that restrict concealed knives.

Carbon blade etc.and not expensive.

Been carrying one for 5 years in hot weather or when o don't want to wear my pistol.
