Who bought one of these little beauties when they were $200?
I did, and HOLY HELL I would have one at twice the price.

The only downsides are the relatively low-power 9x18 Makarov, which is only a little hotter than .380, and the somewhat largish grip, which makes it more difficult to conceal than other handguns of this size.
The first issue is an easy fix: Just use JHP, as you would with .380. The second issue is only relevant relative to, as I said, "guns of that size". It is approximately as easy to conceal as most (slighty larger) double-stack compact 9mm. (glock, XD, etc etc. )
If you can find one in the $250 range still, snap it up!!

i like the cz82, very nice shooter. my only gripe is i dont have large hands so i have to shift my grip to get my thumb to the mag release or use my index finger on the other side.

Modern hollow points have plenty of penetration if you get nice buffalo bore or hornady rounds. Please stop the FMJ bullshit, you're going to get some dumbass killed. Some of the really mean rounds get over 1100 FPS out of the CZ 82 thanks to that polygonal rifling. Many can easily hit that 12-18" sweet spot as well for penetration. Maybe if you live in Minnesota or something where everyone wears thick coats it'd be a slight issue but in the south nobody really wears heavy coats unless it's the absolute dead of winter at night. It has plenty of penetration with the good hollow points, and hell even silver bear aint too bad if you had no other alternative.
As for concealibility I don't really know yet. I'm just now getting around to getting my CCW so I guess I'll find out then. Could always use the toolpouch holster if you look like a guy doing home improvement work, I know I've considered it and it aint a terrible holster either.

I also have to use my middle finger to hit the mag release. It's actually pretty comfortable and my grip doesn't change much, but as it's my first pistol I ever bought its lead to some weird reload habits.
