I have lived in both NH and WV. It can get just as cold, sometimes colder in WV. The difference is they get less total snowfall overall, and your shoulder seasons aren't just a shittier version of winter there. The snowpack in the Whites is still hanging around right now. There are not very many places in WV that still have snow right now, I would imagine. That being said, don't expect more sun or less days of snowfall.
