Can someone explain to me why the US bombed Dresden to hell and back even though it was full of civilians?
Also why did they firebomb Tokyo? I can kind of understand Little Boy and Fat Man but once again, why drop them on civilian cities that you weren't even close to?

I'm not trying to bait or be a smart ass either. Just genuinely curious at this point because I remembered a woman in my uni class sperged out over the whole topic when we were all discussing WW2.
It just got me thinking a bit about it.
