Just get a bx-25 and load it with CCI Velociraptor. It's similar to CCI stinger, just a little heavier and slower, so you'll get better penetration out of it. Be sure to aim for the chest and face too.

Hell I'd trust even a CCI mini-mag to the job. Just be sure to buy reliable ammo. For me, never had a misfire with well kept brand ammo, CCI first of the list.

get a BX-25 steel lipped magazine and load it with CCI velociters or stingers. perfect home defence weapon. Its what Im using at the moment as well.

Load your 25 round magazine with 24 of these things. And then one CCI stinger. When the police asked why you unloaded an entire mag on him, tell them you mixed up your pest control magazine with the home defence one. As for the last round, it was a mix up.

One center-of-mass hit from a 1200 fps 22lr HP will not reliably stop a human being. But, five 22lr HP hits on the center-of-mass should greatly improve your chance of stopping an assailant. The trick would be landing those five hits in an panicked situation. More often most shots will be misses or not on the center of mass, which is okay with a more powerful cartridge as you only need one good hit.

My advice is that if you are concerned with home defence, you really ought to invest in a 12 gauge or a 9mm handgun for a couple of hundred dollars. If you cannot afford that, get a reliable 25 round mag for the 10/22 and try to overcome the limitations of the cartridge with volume of fire.

25 rounds of Stinger ball rounds (or even 10), isn't the best home defense tool, but from a rifle length barrel, .22LR hits deep enough to matter, you can ruin someone with that if needed, think of it as stabbing someone as hard as you can with a reasonably long screwdriver, from a distance, in a few seconds, 25 times.

Honestly, hollowpoints are just not worth your time in a .22LR, not for HD, even if you get them to expand by using a rifle, the expansion is too little to matter, go for penetration, look at a normal bullet with a jacket, or at the least a copper wash, you want to strike as deep as you can.
