A FAMAS seems like the kind of gun I'd try and make at home if I were better at CAD and I had access to a CNC lathe.

Lever delayed blowback is super simple, and you could use off the shelf parts for the rifle and magazine.

I wanted one in 98' after playing Metal Gear Solid. It's a meme gun, like the Spas-12, Jatimatic and Desert Eagle. Very aesthetic but a glamour gun, although as a civilian owner that fact is as legitimate as performance when it comes to buying one.
