This looks like a mag that was test fit in a rifle a few times, then packed in a big box with a bunch of other mags and they rattled around and marked each other up. There's nothing wrong with it.

This. Even when we got brand new mags in the military the finish was always fucked up looking. It scratches and scuffs easily in transport.
