What is the best cheap Saturday night special? There are so many, there has to be at least one decent one, right?

>The best
Define best. Define cheap.
>there has to be at least one decent one, right?
Depends on how much we're talking.
>>33513677
Ehh, it depends on the price point.
JA-9.
You got 9mm stoppan powah, a microscoping price, and only a 50% chance if it blowing your hand off.

Glockarov aka Kel-Tek P11. It's 14oz, uses doublestack 12rd mags plus can use S&W 59 mags (15rd-32rd).
>cheap
Hi-Point
Are there clones of baby colts? Those are supposed to be pretty nice, so I imagine there are some copies.

I have a tanfoglio Giuseppe in .25. Cost me 95$. You can get a cobra .380 for cheap.
>>33513635
Tallest midget is definitely Hi-Pint. At around $100-150 new and made out of cast zinc alloy it's definitely a saturday night special. That said, they can be coaxed to shoot accurately with practice, reliably once broken in and the warranty service is amazing.
I bought one for S&G's and honestly for what it is I appreciate it. Is it almost as good as my Glock or CZ75? Fuck no! But I've definitely owned much more expensive guns that have worked worse. If you can't afford a proper mainstream "good" handgun a Hi-Point is better than nothing, and not all guns are in that category.
Are there any tiny .22 or .25 pistols that won't explode on me for around $100?

Maybe those Cobra derringers? I've heard even they are unreliable somehow, but in terms of catastrophic failure there aren't many moving parts to wind up blowing up.

Used to be loads of cheap Italian clones. They're not so common these days though.
>>33516406
this fucker is 125 theres also those naa revolvers around the same
its not that great of a gun but you dont risk your hand
>The best
at is the best cheap Satu
Hi points are crude yet functional.
Jimenez, Jennings, raven, etc are to be avoided full stop.
If you want an actual gun look to the sd9ve and tp9sa, both can be had for under 300.
>>33516469
I heard they were not bad. you can buy the one with interchangeable barrels.
>>33516469
Second on the HP22. You can deactivate the redundant safeties without voiding your warranty, too. There are tutorials on youtube for that.

Just remember to use standard velocity ammo, other wise it'll start to crack and break on you.
I've always wanted to start a collection of garbage pocket pistols, but I don't have the disposable or the guns to justify it.
Look up "Ring of Fire" guns. They were the US manufacturers of Saturday night specials that came to be after the Gun Control Act of 1968.
I have an rg .32 colt detective clone that's pretty reliable, but it wildly innacurate. I got it from my grandpa.

George Jennings was friends with a pawn shop owner who was upset that he could no longer get cheap imported pistols due to the GCA. So Jennings designed the Raven P-25. From there it grew into several companies mostly owned by members and/or associates of the Jennings family.

Yes. If you can find a Jimenez, get that. They have a lifetime free no questions asked warranty if anything does happen. .25 wise, an old FIE Titan works fine. Avoid the QFI's because those were pot-metal guns made between the GCA and early 70's when FIE could start manufacturing here in the US.
Avoid Lorcin's because they always made the slides too thin, but primarily on the 9mm pistols. Sundance are decent guns. An older Raven P-25 (will be marked as such) is a decent gun.
Though I'd recommend in the same price range a Jennings J-32 or the Jimenez offering in .32. It's, IMO, the best bang for your buck SNS wise.

Me too man, there something about em huh?
I got big into mouse guns a couple years ago. The problem is after that 70s gun control act, actual quality imports dried up & then a bunch of shitty manufacturers in the states started putting out pot metal guns that don't last.
So you've basically got two choices. Pay high dollar for something old like a Walther Model 9, Colt Vest Pocket or Junior, or go with something newer & cheaper but higher quality than the ring of fire shitters.
The only ones I've found in that case are the Keltec P32 in 32, Beretta Jetfire in 25, & Taurus PT22 in 22. I personally carry the P32 almost every day as its reliable & ticks off all the check boxes. Its the lightest, slimmest & better caliber of all of them. There's a significant difference in firepower between a 25 and 32. A lot more than say, a 380 and a 9 round.
Although the Jetfire was nice (tiny, single action, no recoil & 9 rounds means you could mag dump into a baddies face before they even knew what hit them), I went with the more practical round & pistol in the P32 & just stopped looking.
Mouse guns are fun & neat, but there's just too much shit out there.

P.S. The Blackhawk Size 4 holster fits it like a glove & covers the entire back that's against your skin. Load it with the hottest Euro ball ammo you can find (Geco or Fiocchi) and be done w it.
here's mine. its loud, heavy, hasn't exploded yet, and i wouldn't be heartbroken to throw it off a bridge.
