Could they make a more perfect home defense shotgun that is still legal and doesn't require an NFA tax stamp?

>pro tip, you can't.
>>
>>33508620
They could make one with an 18" barrel a stock.
>>
>>33508636
That defeats the point of making it compact.

You realize the shot stays together and doesn't start to spread for at least a couple yards, right?

At a couple feet away, you might as well be shooting slugs. You have to aim a shotgun.

Welp, it's gotta be bait. No way any sane nominally intelligent person would conflate a 12 GAUGE shotgun with a 9mm handgun specifically when firing off hand MUCH LESS when the two examples weigh nearly the same.
>>
>>33511385

It's a neat novelty or maybe a quaint trunk-gun, but as half the thread pointed out you're better off with a stock in every scenario.
Although I wouldn't mind a 14" with a stock, but SBS etc
>>
>>33511350
And how do you aim a pistol? By looking down the sights, right? Try that with a pgo shotgun and you'll look like a toothless meth-head afterwards.
>>
>>33511485
how the hell did they make a 14 inch barrel with a flush tube hold 6 shots when a 500 with a 20 inch barrel only holds 7 in the tube?
even a 14 inch rem 870 is 4 in the tube.
>>
>>33511408
I don't know how many five and a half pound handguns you have, but as someone who has actually fired PGO shotguns I can assure you they're not anywhere near as hard to shoot as people seem to think they are.

Barring severe disorders of muscle or bone, you should be able to hit reliably at 25 yards, to say nothing of the 5-7 yards in a home defense situation.
>>
>>33508620
You're right, I couldn't make a better non-NFA home defense weapon, but someone else could.

>t. noodlearms

I shoot 3" magnums out of my PGO Maverick 88, aiming down the sights as that's required by my range. I got a light bump on my nose the first time I used a high-velocity magnum, but quickly learned to control that as well.

Normal or low-recoil buck should not be an issue for anyone who is strong enough to hold a gun in general.
>>
>>33511572
A full 226 with a light is alot fucking closer in weight to that toy than it is to a real shotgun with a stock. It's a piece of shit for HD it's only purpose is plinking, argue it all you want but keep in mind that you are arguing against all conventional wisdom and common sense.

Bird's head != PGO
It's actually crazy how differently they handle. Bird's head is much easier to aim and shoot accurately, as you can sight down the bore provided you "stretch" the gun while shooting.

A stock is still much easier to shoot effectively but they're nowhere near as bad as a PGO gun.

I'd put a surefire slide on it, but other than that I'd say it's the best HD choice out there that doesn't require legal tomfoolery. If I didn't have to worry about the law, yes I would put a stock on it or just buy an automatic SMG.

It's definitely not for new shooters though. Even though the recoil isn't ridiculous, it's probably pretty heavy. It also needs some pretty decent point shooting skills, but it's compact size, light weight, and bead sight should make quick targeting fairly easy.
