Can /k/ help me identify this gun and its ammo? I found it in a box of guns. Found out what the rest were, but couldn't find any info on this.

The round for it next to a .38 shell for reference.

.22 short 'Liberty' revolver.
>>33506497
The only marking I can find
Looks like .22 short
>>33506506
That was quick. Thanks

Looks like its a Saturday night special circa 1880s, worth no more than $70 in it's current condition. Made by Liberty (a company which also has other names). It's single action and shoots .22s.

Literally googled 'revolver with george washington on the grips'
>>33506558
You think it'll fire?
>>33506583
With .22 short? Probably. I'd shoot a cylander in a vise with the grips off behind some cover
>>33506591
Pardon me?
Oh and here's the box of guns I found it in.
>>33506601
>take a vice
>remove grips
>once grips are removed clamp it to a vise with some carboard so you dont scratch anything
>tie twine to trigger
>cock hammer
>go like 20 feet, preferably behind something like a door
>pull twine
>inspect for blown up gun
>do this 8 times
>>33506632
Gotcha. Your jumble of words confuses me.
>>33506583
So long as the bore and internals aren't rusted solid it should be fine.
>>33506659
I was able to cock and fire it multiple times so I think it's ok for now.
>>33506672
I meant pull the trigger not fire it.
>>33506676
Not reccomended you do that too often, the pin strikes the edge of the cylander potentially deforming it over time or deforming the pin.
>>33506610
That's a sweet little collection of antique pistols. Make sure to lightly oil them so they don't continue to rust.
>>33506632
>20 feet
It's a .22 short for crying out loud
>>33507141
Is it? I have been under the impression that those around-the-century guns should not be offered modern ammunition because they were built for the old lower load cartridges.
>>33506610
What's the semi auto black pistol on the left?
>>33506561
contrary to popular belief everyone is not equally good at google
>>33507500
.22 short has been safely fired out of car antennas
>>33507509 looks like a "ruby" french semi auto
Got a neat little pistol a few days ago, can someone help me with it?
It's marked "manufactured in herstal-belgium" and "browning patent"
Anyone knows the exact model?
>>33506632
dude, you can shoot .22 short completely safely with a crappy 6mm brass pipe and a hammer
>>33507987
Yeah it's a 'Buffalo' Spanish made copy. There's a bewildering variety of old pocket pistols with all the clones and license made guns.
>>33508019
Try FN Browning M1905.
>>33508150
Thank you very much
Here's pics of the batch i bought, the walther was made somewhere in the 1920s
>>33507509
>>33507987
It's a weird way to fire it or I'm just doing it wrong. I can't pull the trigger semi automatically, I have to cock it before pulling the trigger, its weird. You might know about that?
>>33508519
Show a pic of it again? A better one, good enough to read the text?
>>33509585
These are the only pictures I got of it. And I don't have them with me right now so I'm unable to get a real detailed pic
>>33509683
>>33509683
So by cocking you mean pulling the slide back? Well, how would the striker spring get pulled together otherwise?
>>33508164
>an original Reck P8 with gold plated trigger and wood grips with yellow inlay
